This book has two different stories in it: Aqua: Aquamarine is about two girls, Claire and Haley, and they have been best friends all of their lives. The bad news is that Claire is moving to Florida with her grandparents at the end of the week. Also at the end of the week, the beach club they go to every day will be torn down, and their good friend, Raymond, will be going off to college. One day, a really bad storm washes a lot of things from the ocaen into the beach club's swimming pool; small jelly fish, seaweed, seashells, tiny blue fish... when they hear about this they go to the pool and soon discover there's a MERMAID in the pool. Aquamarine (the mermaid) falls in love with Raymond so Claire and Haley set Aqua up on a date with him. But mermaids can only stay on land for a certain amount of time. After the date, Aqua starts losing her scales and drying up. Claire and Haley rush her to the ocean. Will Claire get into the water? Will Aqua survive? Will this book have a happy ending? Indigo: Martha Glimmer lives in Oak Grove, A High and Dry place. She and her two friends, Trevor and Eli (Trout and Eel) McGill dream of seeing the ocean and leaving Oak Grove. The weird thing about her frends is that they have webbing between their fingers and toes. One night, they sneak out of their houses and make a journey to the beach. As sleeping in the woods, a storm comes in, and a branch falls on Martha, possibly breaking her arm. They turn back to Oak Grove, and a horrible flood happens. Martha struggles to survive by holding onto a street sign while Trout and Eel swim to the creek and try to kock down the big dam that is flooding the town. Will Martha, Trout, and Eel survive? Will they ever get their dream to come true?

Midnight Sun, written by Stephenie Meyer. It is the retelling of the story her first book, Twilight, from the view of the primary male character of the book, Edward Cullen. This book is very intense as it delves into Edward's thinking and feelings about the new girl in town, our protagonist, Bella Swan. I really enjoyed this book. It answered many of the plot and character questions i had after reading Twilight. The only negative thing I can add about this book is that it is unfinished. i fear it will never be completed as the author has seemingly lost interest and her audience already knows the outcome of the story.

Really liked it. I read it in a day. Really makes you think. Really makes you analyze your judgments. Shreve is excellent at painting the emotional and physical landscape with words. I read this in a day and in a few years I may read this book again.
