Lisa Baudry lisabaudry — I knew from the first few pages that I wouldn't like this book. Since it was for book club, I kept going. The premise is horrifying and that made me not want to read it. I felt like the characters kept changing--maybe because we just got glimpses of their lives every few years. I also felt like the author wanted us to remember how things were for women and families of down syndrome children in the 1960's and then just kept hitting us over the head with it. I hope the rest of you like it better than I did!

Slava Zubarev slavazubarev — I was surprised to see how close the movie was to the book. I enjoyed it :)

Gerardo Dordelly gfdordelly — I am not completely sure what the meaning is because I am only halfway through Fables 2. These are amusing to read, though, because they use characters like Snow White and the Big Bad Wolf. And it's funny, with little punchlines drawn in. They're like secret jokes if you look at the details in the drawings. Also, this is my first fun book since school got out. Yay! Fables 2-8 are now on my list. ----- I really like these, although I'm not really sure about the political stuff. I mean, there are clear parallels they are drawing to real life political situations and I don't know enough to know if they're doing it in a way that's fucked up or not. Kea says it's pretty historically accurate at least... Anyway, this girl that I met in Lansing said she hates one of the authors because he violently killed a cool female character that everyone loved in Batman and Robin or something like that... Oh yeah, I'm even considering naming my children after a couple of the characters in this series. haha...
