While not as sexy as Tipping the Velvet, this book is a gripping read. I envy any reader their first trip through the story, because you will never guess what's going on or what's going to happen next. Perfectly plotted, brilliantly realized. Unfortunately, Sarah Waters' most recent book is rather a snore, and in her next book she's promised to abandon writing about lesbian characters all together ('cause the world of heterosexuality isn't yet well-documented. Sorry to be so bitter, but it makes me mad that as soon as we get someone decent she can't wait to rush away.) Anyway, this one's very exciting, so check it out!

I have to admit to my guilty pleasure in both the series and the book. I think it is actually well written. The character is likable and the plot at the beginning leaves it open as to whether this is a crime or a crime of nature.Truth be told, I loved it.

I know, this book is at an 8th grade level and you could knock it out in an afternoon. I liked it though. Even though the kid named Ponyboy gave me some pretty horrible (perverted) mental imagery when I was a teenager.

Alice Seabold writes of a 14 year old girl, Susie Salmon, who was raped and murdered and is now in her own version of heaven; however, her voice contains not one bit of the sadness one would normally expect. She is able to become a part of the one's lives who touched her own life and "after life". Even though she will never be able to experience the journey of growing up, she witnesses the changes within her family and friends and guides them into finding her murderer. The Lovely Bones may seem like a novel of misery and death alone, but it is moreso about the quick changes in life and the willing to accept death as it comes. Since Susie is calm and happy in her heaven, she helps keep the novel optimistic. The only flaw I encountered was the fact that Seabold added a few spoilers to figure out how the ending would turn out. Other than that, it's an emotional book I was unable to put down.

it took me a long time to get through this. it just didn't grab me and seemed to drag on... it was amusing at times, just not that great.

Camel Rider is a story about two young boys and there journey of survival and friendship. It is set in a made up country in the middle east. One boy, Adam came from Australia and has moved to Abudai with his parents for work and they are of a higher wealth.. Walid the second boy comes from a completely different situation and moved to Abudai after his father died to get money and education and becomes a camel rider. Physical Description Walid is a skinny yet tall boy and for that reason is despised by the people of who look after him beacause of his height because it makes him awkward while riding on the camel. He helps Adam survive and is one of the main characters. Walid and Adam at first despise each other almost but are both lost so stick together. The language barrier is the biggest trouble for the to and puts strain on the friendship. By the end after all they had been through are best of mates. I would not normally have picked this kind of book and to start with found it quite boring but after i got into it I really enjoyed the book.11 right thrpough to 14 but younger could still read it. No probably not this type of story is not the genre I enjoy. The Language barrier is a big issue along with starvation and thirst the battle to get away from breath of dog and old goat is a big part in the story. I do not have the book at hand which makes not possible to be able to find some descriptive text.
