Another Dan-Brown bestselling book with a formulaic character,plot,and premise that works really well. Or maybe not that much. What I don't like about the book is that it seemed pretty predictable to me. Aside from the chases and whatnot, I felt that the novel didn't have an effect on me subconciously. Tis a quick read. I liked "Digital Fortress" better.

I loved this book and the characters. I liked catching up with Channing, Colby, and Trevor as well as learning more about the other McCays. The romances were great as were the steaming hot love scenes. Can't wait to read the next one!

Well, not so blown away by this sequel to "Plainsong", in part because it is incredibly sad in parts, no resolution of some of the family problems, and not as much pulling together as a caring community in this one. The MacPherson brothers are front and center in this one and are 2 of my favorite characters EVER! Story is again set in hardscrabble Holt, CO, with people searching for affection and a sense of family in all the wrong and right places. The family situations are sometimes so dire that I wanted to leap into the book, slap a few characters, and straighten everyone out. I hope to get to the Skype interview with the author at Cary Public later this month to see if he is planning a third book, because he really needs to tie up some of the loose ends!

I love this book. It puts you in the mind of someone who is devestatingly logical. I was pulled into the story and then rocked out of my seat by the conclusion. It left me wanting so much more, too bad the rest of the series is nowhere near what is essentially the prologue.

I read this because I was curious to know more about an actor I grew up watching on TV and in films, and admired somewhat. And because the book's really short. It's cute in a "dad-ish" sort of way. It's focused towards young college graduates, dealing with decisions that will affect the rest of their lives. There's lots corny jokes, aphorisms, and life advice. I read it in one night.
