edusal
Eduardo Salsamendi edusal — After reading The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt is a slight disappointment. On its own, however, it is a worthwhile fantasy read. I still like the concept of 'the one power' and the seductive nature of its use. The Great Hunt gives much more detail about the use of the one power and showcases many previously unrevealed powers. If you're a teenage girl you might find the romance in this story fascinating. Otherwise, you might get bored because there is sexual tension between almost every male and female that come into contact with each other. Overall, this story kept my attention and entertained me. I wouldn't classify it as one of the best books of all time, but it's a good book. For those who read and loved The Eye of the World, it's fun to see how the story continues.

cristinafantini
Cristina Fantini cristinafantini — This book was not for me. I was drawn to it by the title and the synopsis on the back. It was, to be frank, extremely "out there". From the description, i expected a humorous short story involving, for some reason, furniture porn. I did not expect there to be layers. Normally, I appreciate subtext in the stories I read. Here however, it seemed extremely cluttered. There were messages about Identity, servitude, dreams, hopes, America, freedom and liberty, just to name a few. It was too much to handle in such a short story. The ending felt rather rushed and almost tacked on, and it was hard to get a handle on many of the characters, as they were very one dimensional and in many ways alike to one another. Hard to differentiate, i guess is what I am trying to say. Also, it was extremely difficult to understand why the furniture was used in the way it was. I think there is a message there about the nature of media and entertainment, but WHY FURNITURE? I can see that this book might have an audience for it somewhere, but it was not for me. I expected more humor and less musing on the nature of things.

Julia Zlatieva _latieva — Loved this book as well as the first. I am sad though that it is going to take so long for the 3rd to come out...I want to know what is going to happen. Very good book...I really enjoyed all the twists and turns.

5clicks
Saulo Medeiros 5clicks — Life story of a Chinese girl who is paired as a life long friend to another girl of higher social standing. A lot of heartbreaking sadness as you get a realistic look into the life of these women: foot binding, poverty, arranged marriage, social restrictions, etc. Very well written.
