If you like suspense, action and are into conspiracy theories, I recommend this book. The story line was the first thing to grab me. Here is a man who lost his wife and everything he stood for and now someone is not only using his name but his dead wife’s name to bury mysterious people. Not once, but several times! Having nothing else to lose, Pete travels around trying to find out not only who is doing this but why, while trying to get killed for nosing around. The main character here, Pete, is likable. A bit dense sometimes, I end up rooting for him and worrying for him when he continues to put himself in danger with questionable men. I have to admire his persistence at finding out what people are getting out of this whole plot, yet at the same time I want to scream at him that he is way over his head and to just walk away. William Brown did an excellent job in pulling me in and keeping my attention throughout the book. There wasn’t a rest in the plot and more importantly, no down times. It was constant action and suspense.

One of the very few (three, I think) books I read for high school. I guess I liked it, because I finished it. I remember Lisa Simpson and Homer's mother making fun of John Knowles and feeling sad because I felt the book was at least on my level if not over my head. I also remember acting out the trial scene for my 11th grade English class (I was Brinker). Other than that, I remember characters' names, the basic plot, and not much else.

This is probably the worst book I've ever read. It's the anit-Lolita (my favorite). It's like Carrie Fisher took too many pills and then vomited this book.

Absolutely dug this series, especially The Long Walk and the themes that book explored. This series really got into the value of human life and our interest in sensationalism. I think it was ahead of its time.

I read 100 pages and really tried to like this book but I didn't. The writing is boring and there are tons of new characters added that I don't care about. The author kept jumping around in the time line and it was hard to follow. I fear the other sequel to Gone With The Wind will be just as bad, but I still might check it out.
