Adomas Novogrodskis adomasportfolio — Starcrossed was an outstanding and noteworthy read that will take the hearts of millions of readers! It deserves a place up with the all the big-shot books like Twilight and Harry Potter. This impressive read has earned its place as my favorite book, EVER! With the gorgeous cover, a setting that I could image vividly, and the distinct characters, Starcrossed has blown my mind away every single time I've read it. As rare find, this diamond in a enormous pile of pebbles, has been written phenomenally by Josephine Angelini. The characters that she has penned show an enormous amount of labor and perfection. Every page turn leaves you thunderstruck for more! Yes, thunderstruck, as in breathless or astounded. Read the book to find out why my word choice was a peculiar word like thunderstruck! The small island of Nantucket was a completely absolute choice for the setting of the book. By adding Modern mythology with the setting and the people, Josephine Angelini made a book with scenes that had the reader always at some high level of emotion. I was gloomy when the scene was somber and elated when something good or humorous happened to Helen and the Delos family, especially Lucas. Helen's character was uniquely like me. She was a bit of an outcast, different from the others of the island some how, and some one who cares about her family a lot. I loved the cute little scenes between her and Lucas during her first stay at the house in 'Sconset. To me Lucas was a terribly handsome and charming guy, after the Furies, that is. The mysterious Hector was a character that I never really understood completely until close to the end of the book, but in a good way. The Modern Greek mythology that was one of the main topics in the book gave the book a meaning and plot. An epic tragedy that has been going in cycles for years must be some how broken by Helen and Lucas. Figuring out who Helen and Lucas throughout the book made me have many dazzling epiphanies. I am a Latin student, so knowing the myths and legends already made those epiphanies even more astonishing. The drama and romance in Starcrossed was at a high level that was set just right for an incredible read. There were a few random point of view switches from Helen to another character that to me really brought some light onto those characters as well as Helen. It was something surprisingly pleasant to experience! Josephine Angelini should receive an infinite number of awards for this compelling read that made you want to scream at the top of your lungs for the next book in the series! My Take on the Cover: Words can not be found on any language, extinct or still used, to describe the cover perfectly! The girl, who I presume is Helen looks absolutely stunning in the dress that weirdly resemblesa toga. The incoming storm and the breathtaking ocean converge into a stunning background! Though I didn't notice before, the girl seems to be standing at the edge of a crater. The crater was created by two characters in the beginning half of the book, which if I giveaway, it would be a spoiler. The cover was the best I have seen yet this year in all of the books I have read!
