This book isn't all that great. It's like reading a book by your really smart friend from high school who went on to excel in some scientific field. Their sense of humor isn't really that diverse or well-developed, but they think it is. However, if you're like me and are thinking of pursuing a career in the medical field, there are lots of interesting tidbits. Case studies, stupid anatomy humor, etc. You can follow along with your anatomy book and get some context for all some of those parts of the body you've been trying to memorize. There should be a book like this that covers internal medicine that students read in anatomy and physiology. Hmmm. There probably is, I just need to find it....

I liked this book better than the other two in the trilogy I think because of the glimpse it gave into the Civil War. It also did a good job of showing how a family breaks apart thanks to finances, politics, marriages, etc... But I got weary of reading about Anne's grieving. I know she suffered a lot in a short period, but twelve years seemed a long time to waste your life in limbo. Overall, not a great series and I have no desire to read any of Price's other novels. This story had great potential if only it had been better written. I was always aware of the author while I read thanks to the overusage of certain words like "erudite" and double words seperated by dashes and constant recapping. The story held my interest, the writing made me roll my eyes and groan.

A very quarky book that is quite entertaining. Once you figure out that all is not what is seems, the book begins to speed up cullminating with a great "bang" in the end. Very enjoyable.

I don't normally read detective mysteries, but this one was fun. The plot twists were completely gratifying in that I never saw them coming. I was happy with the ending, although a couple of my friends who read this were not. Eventually I'll read the next book in the series because I grew to really like the characters.
