diffrent but good

A really well-written introduction to the situation in Afghanistan and the multitude of factions complicating the understanding and ease with which even an uneasy peace can be reached.

I love Hornby; in this book I love particularly his humorous and loving accounts of his autistic sons.

The second installment of the comic. In this one the fables who can't pass as humans and are exiled to a farm in upstate New York decide they have had enough and, led by Goldilocks, decide to start a revolution and try to take back their homelands. Sometimes comics have great premises but don't really deliver in execution, but this series does.

Well, first up, this has been the easiest read of any web book I've ever tackled. I *zoomed* through it. And the information is really interesting. Yes, quite a bit of it is common sense; yes, there's some repetition, but I think it's an excellent introduction to how people behave online. It's a book that would be useful not only for people developing social networks, but people attempting to achieve anything online. It's also - apparently contrary to the title - not just for designers. The design that's being talked about covers every aspect of a site's design - from the initial idea and approach, through system design, form design and graphic design, and I would recommend it to anyone who is working with websites, or thinking of starting up a web project. Excellent examples, easy to read, not too long, plus a wealth of links for further reading.

I liked this book a lot more than the last one. The mysteries are more realistic-sounding in these books, which I like. They kind of wrap around all of Kate Holly's problems and I like that about Hughes's writing style. I'm excited for the next one coming out. I like how these books leave me satisfied, but still wanting more.

It was about time for me to get off of my fantasy reading kick and try something else. I decided on some horror. It took me a while to decide which horror book I wanted to read. I don't feel you can go too much by ratings on this type of book. What scares me might not scare another and vice versa. So I grabbed up this one and decided to have at it. I really liked it. Although this book did not scare me it did make me think. I thought about the evil inside of people and how sometimes it doesn't take much to have it come out. This in itself is pretty scary. Even though I didn't get scared, I enjoyed reading it. I enjoyed narrator of the story - Robbie and all the other characters. I ended up having pretty distinct feelings for each one. I really like that in a story. As for the story line itself, I thought it was really good. It was kind of like the movie "The Mist" but still able to stand on it's own. Not sure if this book will scare you. Like I said, everyone has there own idea on what terrifies them. I still would recommend it for an easy and entertaining read.

I can't recall exactly when I read this book, but it "remains" one of my all time favorites. Each sentence is so beautifully crafted I had to read some of them over and over. Not much actually happens but the psychological drama is so gripping as we see the inner prison that the lead character creates for himself, chaining himself within his own morals and ethics.

One of My Favorites Until last week this was my favorite Linda Howard book. Cry No More pushed this book into 2nd place but I still love Wolf and Mary. Mary is a prim and proper schoolteacher who just moved to small town. A seriously small town. She has a student, the Mackenzie boy, who hasn't been to school. It seems he's dropped out. Mary decides that no student will be left behind on her watch and she's going to talk to Joe Mackenzie's father, Wolf. Wolf and Joe live on a mountain, it's snowing, Mary doesn't have the right clothes being from a warm climate, and she has a pretty crappy car. Still, she needs to get her student back in school, so off she goes up the mountain...and promptly gets stuck. Mary was aces. She had a lot of gumption for such a small slip of a woman. It wasn't the kind you usually see in books though where the woman is a spitfire. Mary was just someone who beilieved in people and education and she fought for what she believed in. I know there are readers who didn't like her character but I thought she was a nice change from snippy, angry female characters full of attitude. So, yeah, Mary had my vote. Wolf. I loved Wolf. He was pretty disillusioned but I felt like he had a reason to be. Prison isn't fun and to be wrongfully imprisoned due to bigotry. Well, it beyond sucks and I would be hella angry and distrustful too. Wolf is really an old school romance hero. I enjoyed him in all of his stoic alpha maleness. I can see how some people wouldn't enjoy his character but I liked the way his hardness and disillusionments was in stark contrast to Mary's sheltered rose colored glasses. This book was a sweet love story with an awesome teenage son thrown in to add some family flavor. I love a good family story so that made this book two thousand times better. Love, love, love.
