Rita Baía ritabaiaca75ca — I liked this book a lot more than the last one. The mysteries are more realistic-sounding in these books, which I like. They kind of wrap around all of Kate Holly's problems and I like that about Hughes's writing style. I'm excited for the next one coming out. I like how these books leave me satisfied, but still wanting more.

Rute Marques rutecmrosac204 — This book was terrible. The story would probably be okay, but the author is an extremely weak writer. I couldn't get past all the adverbs the author used to describe dialogue tags. In 1-2 pages she uses tartly, firmly, apologetically, drily, nervously, incredulously...etc. JUST SAY SAID! There's no need to add an 'LY' word. Sometimes a character can just "say" something! I had to give up. It was a lot worse than some of the fan-fiction I've read over the years. Did this just get published because of the Twi/vampire craze? I NEVER FINISHED. ZERO STARS IF COULD

Merv Burton mervynbuaf9a — Since my birthday is the same as Abraham Lincoln's, I've always been in awe of him. This non-fiction book, written for elementary students, appealed to me and will to all Lincoln buffs. It not only shows significant photography of Lincoln's day and his life, but provides snapshots into his personality and strengths. This is a quick and interesting read. Michelle L lportermichelle — When I read this with a friend in some college class I found it difficult to follow the thread of the lecture because my friend and I were busy keeping our somewhat hysteric-al laughter quiet. It was laughter of a Poe-ish perversity. One of a twisting recognition, as when you look into a funhouse mirror. She and I felt revealed, if only to and between ourselves. Perverse again because the recognition required each of us to identify the other before immediately turning our Jekyll faces back to the class.
