It was a trip catching up with Dishwasher Pete, author of one of my favorite zines of all time. His writing style is as self-effacing, absorbing and funny as ever, and the book manages to fill in all of the blanks that the Dishwasher zine might have had on its xeroxed pages.

If you are a dog lover I recommend that you read this book it's truely a heart warming story.

** spoiler alert ** I've left this book stewing in my mind for days after finishing because I just don't know what to say about it. So, I'll just write the texts that I sent my sister. #1. I hate books that don't have an ending...that make you go WHAT??? They tease you with an ending and then go by the way...NOT. #2. It spent the last quarter of the book explaining away the fantasy and then the ending gave you a big, "oh by the way, telios is real and he just stole your baby". #3. The only message I got from the book is that people aren't always what they portray. I like the way that Phoebe thoughts Sam's mother was some perfect being that she would never live up to but when in reality, she was corrupt and it was all a show to cover for the evil underneath.

I had read "The Rising" and loved it, so the next natural step was this book. It picked up right where its prequel left off, and I loved it. It did get a little hokey at times, but overall, the story rocked. The ending was so appropriate, the characters were fun. I think I have a new favorite zombie author.
