Steven Clemens sclemens — Guys, this sucked. I came across this book in one of my many trips to the library and thought it would be an interesting read. The synopsis promised a look at the motivations of terrorism through the lens of food! That sounds cool, right? No. All the food metaphors were so poorly written and clunky. Like they were just thrown in there haphazardly, because oh, I set out to correlate food and terrorism. Right. I quit over halfway through. I could have finished it on the bus ride I took it on, but I just...blech. Couldn't. I would like an interesting book/movie on this topic. I'm always disappointed (See also: my viewing experience with Paradise Now).

I appreciate his dark side, I share it, but I don't need to read about it when I'm looking for light, escapist fiction . I don't need to be educated about how corrupt and racist our justice system is, or how stupid and racist most police officers are, or how obnoxious and racist Texas is in general - I know that already. This is why I won't read his nonfiction book "An Innocent Man." I wish he'd get back to the pleasantly unbelievable legal thrillers of his early work ("A Time to Kill" nonwithstanding). I'm still going to read whatever he writes, I just won't be rereading his books like I used to.

владимир детков vvdetkovbb47 — I had read "The Rising" and loved it, so the next natural step was this book. It picked up right where its prequel left off, and I loved it. It did get a little hokey at times, but overall, the story rocked. The ending was so appropriate, the characters were fun. I think I have a new favorite zombie author.
