I couldn't put this one down. Fascinating ethical dilemma and drama. When Picoult is good, she is great. After the first few she is somewhat predictable but the books read fast and keep you engaged. This one was the best so far.

I learned a lot about Newfoundland. I didn't know it was composed of Labrador and the island of Newfoundland. Also, I had no idea it was independent of Canada for such a long period of time. Outports are small towns on the coast reached only by sea. St. John on Newfoundland Island is actually the oldest permanent settlement north of Mexico. I am trying to read all the books in the "Let's Discover Canada" series.

This was darker than I expected it to be. I found it to be less of an inquiry into values and more of an inquiry into mental illness. Perhaps I am too young to get it.

Murder Game puts the series back on the rails...where it had fallen off before. The suspense of Kadan's search for a team of serial killers is taut and intriguing. Tansy's unique abilities made her one of the most interesting of all the "Whitney Girls". While being unable to touch even the smallest item...without repercussions...Tansy remains strong and independant. The relationship with Kadan and Tansy moves quickly but is built through their trails and makes for a nice story. I'm actually looking forward to the next book.

Notwithstanding the considerable quantity and quality of research within this book, it was a pleasure to find such a very readable text. Dr Brook’s book is a valuable addition to the bookshelf of anyone who loves, and has an interest in, the English language; because of the core importance of the linguistic contributions made by three (1549, 1552, and 1662) of the five editions of The Book of Common Prayer, in conjunction with the King James (‘Authorised’) Bible of 1611. For some while now, I’ve been of the opinion that the Second Collect in Evening Prayer sounds awkward, but I’d given up wondering why. Dr Brook helpfully explains (pg 135) that this clumsiness is due to “The appearance of anacoluthon, …” ‘Oh help,” I thought. “What on earth’s that?” I need not have become flustered (or reached for the e-dictionary on my Sony e-Reader); because the rest of Dr Brook’s sentence continues, “…or syntactic change of direction in the course of a sentence…” “Ah,” I thought, looking that Collect up in my 1928 (Eng.) Prayer Book; “I learn something new every day!” This book's like that.

Meh. Kinda cliche' Kinda BAD art. Had a decent ending, though maybe I was just glad that it was over.

I usually love his books. This one, not so much.
