I read this book at the recommendation of a professor while I was studying in Prague. He taught a class called the "Culture of Dissent" and when I mentioned that I enjoyed reading, he brought in this book for me. I enjoyed reading the different character's reactions and feelings towards the books they were reading. I had read all the books the women read in the book, and enjoyed gaining a completely different perspective on them. It was extremely interesting to me to learn about the life of a woman in Iran and opened my eyes to the incredible social injustice there.

although there were glimmers of brilliance in this book, i had to wade through it to find them. we could bring up a lengthy discussion on what, exactly art is, but i feel like that would be beating a dead horse. a very dead horse. mr. young, the horse is dead - i know poetry is art, but a little clarity? please?

I read this book feeling a mixture of emotiones. On one hand, some of her experiences hit a soft spot because I'd just gone through some similar situations; but, on the other hand, the way in which she dealt with some of them sounded so unrealistic that I had to skim through the text more than once. All in all, it was a fine reading; but it wasn't what I was actually expecting.

I really couldn't put it down.. I needed to know what was going to happen. Kind of upset that her and Morelli didn't have sex, but whatever. I was kind of mad at her stupidity for part of the book, but she seemed to wisen up later on. Pretty good book, and I'll need to read the 2nd one to find out what happens.

I wasn't quite sure about this series at first, but I read the first 20% on her webpage and from then on Jeaniene Frost has had me hooked! I can't get enough of Cat and Bones and Frost writes with the perfect mixture of action & romance.

The blurb on the book is correct. It does make you look at the world differently! I expected this book to be kind of stuffy, but it was enjoyable and the author used interesting examples to illustrate his points. I used to love Sesame Street when I was a kid, so I particularly enjoyed reading about what made that show successful. The Endnotes point out some interesting books for further reading, so I'm going to add a couple of those to my reading list!
