Katherine Marques kmvbrandin3a20 — This book has taken me a long time to get through. It's an interesting story, but it seems to be lagging a bit for me. I think I have 50 pages left. I'll finish it soon. Maybe I'm just not in the mood for this book. I do get a little frustrated with the narrator and how she rambles on about what people are doing. It's just that she really likes to describe events and non-events. OK, I'll finish it. After I finished this book I decided I wasn't that impressed. The writing itself is fine, but I just felt like I wanted more from this story. Mainly it annoyed me that the narrator rambled so much and described things that didn't (at least i didn't feel) need to be described.

Jill Ryder shindigbespoke — I read this book at the recommendation of a professor while I was studying in Prague. He taught a class called the "Culture of Dissent" and when I mentioned that I enjoyed reading, he brought in this book for me. I enjoyed reading the different character's reactions and feelings towards the books they were reading. I had read all the books the women read in the book, and enjoyed gaining a completely different perspective on them. It was extremely interesting to me to learn about the life of a woman in Iran and opened my eyes to the incredible social injustice there.
