Now that Webmind has begun to interact with the rest of the world, and Caitlin is discovering what it means to be a sighted teenager, they are both discovering that there are many things out there of which they should be wary. The government begins watching them, aware that Webmind could have significant influence and power, with great repercussions if he chose to abuse that power. I liked this even better than the first book, preferring the focus on the social ramifications of Caitlin’s vision technology and Webmind. I also really enjoyed the political intrigue and the romantic interaction between Caitlin and her socially awkward boyfriend. This was Mr. Sawyer at his best, typical with his writing once he is well-entrenched in the middle of one of his strong stories.

An amazingly intricate and multi-layered tale of Max the ambassador, his upbringing in Alsace, his daughter India, Boonyi and Shalimar the Clown. The crime Shalimar commits first appears to be an allegory for the history of Kashmir, but it rapidly becomes clear that much more is at stake and the 'crime passionnel' at the core of the novel has roots in Shalimar's Kashmiri upbringing. Extremely well formed characters, densely yet accessibly written, beautifully woven together. Some arresting and thought-provoking uses of language. Very well researched - history, culture and politics are not merely a backdrop to the story but determine the outcome and are woven into the fabric of the characters day to day lives. I'd not read Salman Rushdie before, but Midnight's Children is already on my amazon wish list!

This book was not very good I didn't like the ending. The other two books were awesome but this one was the biggest let down ever! The ending was so crappy! I like Rodman Philbrick, I really Like Freak The Mighty it's a good book but I think he should stick to the non-mystery instead of writing mystery books.

An incredible story. Inspirational. I loved it.
I could not put this down - what an honest, laugh out loud book. I'm itching to read all of her books!

It was hard to understand the text for a lot of the time. It got long and tedious at times but the actual story was decent. Way too much symbolism. Or maybe that's just because we've been analyzing it in class.

I actually finished this awhile ago but am just now getting around to posting my reviews. This was a fast read and it was very thought provoking. I liked that it wasn't straight forward - "here's how I grew up, then I went to school, then I got elected" etc. - it jumped around, touching on different times and places in his & his family's lives. Regardless of what you think of him, it was interesting to see his thoughts and ideas on the things that happened during his Presidency. For me as a Conservative Republican, it was very true to the values and ideas that I hold dear and only increased my opinion of him. I also found it interesting to hear about what he went through in some difficult and much criticized events that took place during his presidency. All in all, a very good read.

Following her academic husband to a new job in a small college town in Washington, Maye is confronted by the challenges of making new friends and, after a series of missteps, decides to enter the annual Sewer Pipe Queen pageant, a popular local tradition. This book was entertaining, but a little "over the top". The situations that Maye found herself in funny, but they weren't always believable. The author used a lot of similes and metaphors which slowed the pace somewhat. The resolution of the story was good and I didn't see it coming, but the very end of the book was a real let-down. I enjoyed it and had fun listening to it, but it's fairly forgettable.

-I decided to read this book because a girl in my class recommended it, she said that it was really good. -The category on the bingo board that this book completes is a book written in 2010 or 2011. -What I liked about this book was the way that is was really touching, I cried three times during this book and I laughed in some parts. I loved the way that it was written from a first person perspective. I really liked the way that the author created characters with interesting personalities. I also liked the vivid descriptions and the way that the story can help the reader to connect to the story emotionally. Personally I think that this book was the best book that I have read. -What I didn't like about this book was the way that the author wrote it so that one of the best characters dies (I don't like it when authors kill of one or some of the best characters off). -I would recommend this book to people aged 12-19 because the book has a storyline that would interest people in that age category. It is touching, and it captures your attention.
