Mahmud Yılmaz _reative_adas — Such a beautifully written account of the ugly face of extreme poverty. I cried so much when I read this book. You really felt like you were right with the narrator through every unfortunate event in his life. I love this book.

Abilio Macario canfactoryltd64 — Now that Webmind has begun to interact with the rest of the world, and Caitlin is discovering what it means to be a sighted teenager, they are both discovering that there are many things out there of which they should be wary. The government begins watching them, aware that Webmind could have significant influence and power, with great repercussions if he chose to abuse that power. I liked this even better than the first book, preferring the focus on the social ramifications of Caitlin’s vision technology and Webmind. I also really enjoyed the political intrigue and the romantic interaction between Caitlin and her socially awkward boyfriend. This was Mr. Sawyer at his best, typical with his writing once he is well-entrenched in the middle of one of his strong stories.

Denis Plotikov praktic — This new release from David Ebershoff, The 19th Wife, was a great book. I almost passed on it when I found it in the mail. The cover was so bland and old, but the title was intriguing enough for me to try it out. I finished this book in a couple days. I couldn't put it down and the 500 plus pages seemed to fly by. Mormonism is the topic of this book, though Mr. Ebershoff mixes fictional characters into the storyline, the basic components of the book are based upon some truths. Normally, a book like this is meant to question faith, but this author successful left the essential idea of faith in tact while causing us to question what we have faith in. Ann Eliza Young, a real woman, is resurrected in this book, as is her memoir from 1875. It will make you want to dig that book up and read it because of the complicated plotting and powerful emotional pull of Mr. Ebershoff's rendition of her life. She was Wife No. 19.
