An interesting philosophical unraveling of the myth of religion - especially Christianity - from a scientific basis. The science-heavy middle part is well, heavy reading and at times excruciatingly boring. It remains doubtful how many minds this would change, but maybe I'm too much of a cynic.

From the first page I enjoyed the book. i couldn't put it down. I loved the idea of the time travel. This is about a family that has the gene of time travel. The gene carrier had to be born a a certain date. It is the last one of the time travelers. This one is supposed to complete the circle...The family has prepared Charlotte to receive the gene and hence has trained her life or what will happen when she does so she can fit in. The cousin Gwyneth has no clue and has had a normal life. The family all live in the same huge house. Gwyneth ends up with the gene, birthday was recorded wrong. Since she has not preparation her first couple times in time she has no clue what to do. Lesley is Gwynths best friend and helps here figure out who people are. No one outside the family is supposed to know about the time traveling gene. When she tell her mom, she is taken to the secret society. They are the ones trying to complete the circle. She travels with Gideon through time. The chronograph helps them travel in time to set places so they can be safe. The 1st on was stole by to other time travelers. to complete the circle they have to have everyone who is a time traveler blood in the chronograph. So they are starting over trying to get it all. Gideon drives Gwyneth crazy. They have trouble because the others with the chronograph are working against them. Gwyneth want to give the the benefit of the doubt but Gideon will not. It leaves you read for the next one!

This is a beautiful, illustrated read that takes a woman through the seasons of being a mother. Buy a big box of tissues - DO NOT read this in the bookstore because it is short. You won't get through it without weeping. My mom got it for me for Mother's Day.

My sister bought the first paperback edition of this book when it came out, and I read it waaaaay back then. I seem to recall that John Lennon's recent murder wasn't mentioned at all, it having happened after the book went to press. This is a very comprehensive history of The Beatles and it is chock full of trvial details every superfan craves. However, I do recall feeling that the author was making no secret of the fact that John was his favorite Beatle. In my opinion, that is the one ongoing problem that kept the book from being spectacular. I just prefer my history more unbiased. Recently I came across an updated version on a clearance shelf at the bookstore and bought it. Now it has John and George's death in it as well, and the paperback is now a larger version which makes the photos more enjoyable. It remains a comprehensive history which might be far more than a general music buff would want to tackle, but to go beyond a rehashing of basic Beatle history, read this and enjoy it!
