La puritita verdad? Empezó demasiado bien y terminó demasiado lento. Jajajaja!! Esperaba más de Lora. Aunque esta mejor que el primero. La sis dice que mejora la serie, veamos si realmente mejora. Sino, me cambiaré un rato de autora. Igual y es el exceso de libros de Lora Leigh...

The Bible of the Libertarian Party, Atlas Shrugged, is a book I read because my cousin went on about how good it was. Lucky for him - he was right. Aside from the two-dimensional characters, various sub-plot lines and a few un-necessary detailed conversations between characters, I still found this beast of a book to be extremely well written. Also, in MY opinion her writing harbors on that of Nietzsche - Part poetic, part logical. In addition, it's a pretty easy read. I do think everyone needs to give it a chance as it as it outlines, even fictionally, human nature in a capitalist world.

This was my first, and to date, only Vonnegut experience. I read this in my junior year of high school, tacked onto the end of the year. Mostly as an indulgence to my english teacher who was obsessed with Vonnegut and squeezing it in at the end of the year to have people to fanboy and geek out with after they'd read it. Then I read it and figured out why he was so obsessed. I have to say, this book yanked me firmly into modern literature. (At the time I was deep into my love for 18th and 19th century prose style. Didn't really get over that. Just paused it for a time.) After Vonnegut, I read a slew of men from around his time period. I really credit this book with making me branch out a whole lot more. His sense of humour is so absurd, and there is rarely a laugh that I don't feel somewhat bad about laughing about. But I loved it anyway. His account of Dresden was absolutely heartbreaking to me, and I read it over and over again. The style is completely engaging, and made this a fairly fast read for me, despite the subject matter. I think that everyone should at least /try/ this book, even if the sound of it doesn't appeal to you. If someone has another Vonnegut to recommend, do let me know.

I found this much loved book to be dissapointing and predictable. It saddens me. A lot of people like it because it's Starship Troopers but with more action and less politics. .. Well there goes the best part of ST.

Well, I hope I'll read this. I've been afraid of Robin McKinley ever since I tried to read "Spindle's End" a few years ago...

Good addition to a long running series. Abe Glitzky is such a fantastic character! It's hard to read about the super wealthy basically getting anything they want, including buying justice, but even if it's uncomfortable I do think it's real. That was the most difficult part of this book--the discomfort the the injustice of it all brings. But I will say, there is retribution at the end, and a reasonable twist.

3.5. A fictionalized account of the friendship between Truman Capote and Harper Lee told through a ghost story of sorts, I was surprised to find that most of the factual events in the book were true. I just read In Cold Blood a little while ago, which is amazing, and this book intrigued me and made me wonder how Harper Lee or Truman Capote would feel about the book because of how it explores psychological demons.
