Sara Fosstvedt _ongla — So, this book is considered not only Fitzgerald's greatest work but one of the greatest books of the twentieth century. I still haven't figured out what makes a book one of the greatest or what makes it a classic. I did appreciate the statement that Fitzgerald made about relationships being a front for self-gain. The preface notes that the book didn't sell that well while Fitzgerald was alive. I bet if the book were a new release today, it would suffer the same lack of popularity.

Daniel Watts danielwattz — 3.5. A fictionalized account of the friendship between Truman Capote and Harper Lee told through a ghost story of sorts, I was surprised to find that most of the factual events in the book were true. I just read In Cold Blood a little while ago, which is amazing, and this book intrigued me and made me wonder how Harper Lee or Truman Capote would feel about the book because of how it explores psychological demons.
