** spoiler alert ** A month ago the whole 10th grade was assigned a book Of Mice and Men. I had previously heard about it cause my cousins had read it last year. I didn’t know much about the book but I herd it was good which made me eager to it. Of mice and men was about two men named Lennie and George whose dreams are to buy a house with land and animals. Of mice and men was one of the saddest books. When I read this book I wanted to cry. I would definitely say this book was a let down because I thought that the ending was going to be sweet and everything was going to end well but in fact it broke my heart I loved the book but hated the ending. I wish it would end differently because it would have been an away better book. Through out the book Lennie Geroge are always together. Lennie is the one who causes all the problems and George is the one who saves him from getting in trouble. Lennie never listens to George when he says stay out, so that causes them to always have to run away from the trouble Lennie causes or they will be killed. If it wasn’t for Lennie being so forget full and f he listened to what George said then they would have been able to fulfill their dream and get that house with the animals. The book definitely would have been better. Overall the book was great and I could relate to it because I am always looking out for my friend. I thought that the book overall was excellent but I’m still going to stay strong on the ending. If it was a different ending then I would of loved the book but because of the ending and so many deaths in the book it made me upset and mad. But overall I loved the book and its concept.

Interested in getting into the digital publishing field but feeling intimidated with the sheer amount of information you think you’ll need to learn first? Author Cynthia Reeser has solved that seemingly overwhelmingly obstacle with her book, “How to Publish a Kindle Book with Amazon.com: Everything You Need to Know Explained Simply”. Already an established writer, Reeser offers sound advice and suggestions for the hopefuls out there. “How to Publish a Kindle Book with Amazon.com” walks you step by step through the process of converting files into Amazon’s Digital Text Platform, along with helpful hints and tips on writing, editing, pricing, marketing and promotion. She also elaborates upon publishing for blogs, newspapers, and magazines within the Kindle system. I was impressed with the amount of details and descriptions which will make it easy for readers at any computer skill level to follow. Despite the number of self-publishing avenues available to the would-be writer, Reeser sets the ‘how to’ standard high by employing the same principles set for a traditionally published book. By focusing on this important information, her readers can apply the same methods to their digital works for better success. For example, the traditional publishing process mandates that books go through an enormous amount of editing, revisions, and above all, proofreading, proofreading, and more proofreading. Who wants to pay good money for a book full of misspellings, incomplete information, or poor grammar? Reeser insists that digital publications should be no different and she’s absolutely right. Too many self-published books are out on the market but are in dire need of a major editing overhaul. Therefore, utilizing these traditional publishing standards can make your book stand out above the rest. Simply put, “How to Publish a Kindle Book with Amazon.com” is the best ‘how to’ book I’ve read in years! Even if you know absolutely nothing about the Kindle, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a digitally published author. Reeser is encouraging and motivating and her information is fun to read while maintaining a professional quality. She displays a contagious excitement for her subject and an eagerness to share her wealth of knowledge with others. A must read for writers looking to get their work ‘out there’ without the rejection letters! Vicki Landes, author of “Europe for the Senses – A Photographic Journal”

It was really fun to see Hellboy hanging with Batman, and I only wish that there had been more to that part of the first story. I'm not very familiar with Starman, and had never even heard of Ghost, so that probably took away from my experience. I could tell this was early-ish Mignola, and it wasn't really his best work, but it was still fun to read.

I really enjoyed Gary's open and honest recount of his life. I'm a huge fan of the show an even though there was minimal mention of Howard or even the show I enjoyed the book very much.

Another one of those books that I mainly like because it's so weird.

This short novel recently won the Man Booker Prize, for good reason. Expertly crafted language...make sure you have a good dictionary with you. Prose ranges from the proseaic to the Shakespearean. The plot is revealed slowly through the alcoholic self-loathing meanderings of a recently widowed middle-aged man as he recalls the summers of his youth, returning to the resort seashore to "go back" to relive his memories. He bitterly recognizes that you can't go back and the big questions of the plot are answered only at the very end. The sea is perhaps a book-long metaphor for death? Read only when in a very strong mood!

Great book, especially for a first time author. This books takes the reader through what could happen if terrorists took over a high school. Set in Ohio, scenes are set throughout much of the state. The tension is palpable, and the characters are realistic.

I keep thinking that if I just paid closer attention, I'd get a lot more out of "Knowing God." It's not as if Packer uses a lot of big words. But "Knowing God" is maybe a little too theological for me. Books that are more or less of this genre that seem to be more effective for me include C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity" and Charles Colson's "Loving God." But there is much to appreciate about "Knowing God." Packer relentlessly leads us to an understanding of the God revealed in the Bible, as opposed to the mixture of Santa Claus and kindly uncle that seems to be the picture of God in the popular imagination. "The wrath of God" isn't talked about much today, but the Bible talks about it, and so does Packer. And he has inspired me to have what my friend Paul Meiburger calls a DAWG -- Day Alone With God -- and spend time in at least three specific parts of the Bible: 1) Psalm 18 2) The Book of Mark 3) The Letter to the Romans
