This one is not as good as his previous two, and it is a bit shorter. However, still a great book and a bit easier to follow for those who had a hard time with the other books.

Growing up with action (specifically HK gangster) movies, there's a part of me that really loves action/adventure whether it's in movies or video games. This novel totally reads like a video game. the one major downside is the crazy/evil environmentalists in the book. But other than that I really like the strategy of executing each mission and the characters (although I think the main reason I like Clark is because of the way Willem DaFoe played him in Clear and Present Danger, same goes with liking the Jack Ryan books because of Harrison Ford- Ben Afflek and Alec Baldwin just didn't do it for me)

This is a very engaging read about the Farallone Islands just off the coast of San Francisco which contains one of the largest populations of Great White sharks in the world. Not only is the shark stuff terrifying and incredibly interesting, so is the account of the author's adventure on the islands with the rouge research crew and all of the gazillion birds that live amongst the craggly rocks. Fantastic book.

One of the best history books I have ever read. Biography of Abraham Lincoln written by his law partner. I couldn't put it down; I feel it paints the most realistic picture of the man that could be written.

Zhang Xinxin and Sang Ye co-authored this pioneering work of Chinese oral history - it created an enormous sensation in China when the histories eventually collected into a book began appearing in Chinese journals in the mid-80s. They didn't use a tape recorder, however, re-creating the interviews later (a method still used by Liao Yiwu, author of the Corpse Walker). I think Sang Ye's later work as an oral historian is better - he began using a tape recorder and the amount of detail and the sense of voice is so much stronger in the work he did after this.
