This book kept me awake at night. The misogynistic dystopia it depicts is horrifying, but when Atwood explains how it came about, it is terrifyingly plausible.

I think Wouk is always worth reading, even if, as in the case, the book is not up to his usual standard. What bugged me in particular with this book is the Barak/Emily relationship, which seemed to me a pallid copy of Pug/Pamela from "Winds of War/War and Remembrance."

The Drizzt books are not great works of literature, but they can be fun if you like to play D&D. This trilogy was written after the Icewind Dale trilogy, but comes before any of the rest of the books. I would recommend reading this one first since it is a good starting point and the writing is at least somewhat better than the writing in the Icewind Dale trilogy.

This book was cool. I've lived near where the book takes place most of my life, but this really gave everything I see around me in Puget Sound an added dimension.

this is seriously one of my favorite books of all time!!! It grabbed me right from the beginning by being the kind of thing to fulfill my every "I wonder..." fantasy - which I have a lot of. Bryson also has a very intelligent, dry, sarcastic sense of humor that shows up in some of the most surprising places. I frequently found myself laughing out loud in surroundings that weren't prepared for such outbursts.

I think I'll give this 4.5 stars, because although the plot isn't totally original, I liked the way it was written and I think it had really good character development.

I absolutely enjoyed every page of this book, all the twists and turns in this book were delightful. I also loved how Cindy wrote about how Mel rescued injured animals and nursed them back to health. That really warmed my heart. A fantastic read with a wonderful plot and enjoyable characters. This book will most defiantly be added to my re-read book list. Five cheers for Cindy's book “Cursed”. 5 Bats out of 5 Reviewed by: Raven Kelly- ParanormalRomance.ca Click Here to Visit ParanormalRomance.ca

I read this in high school in the late 1980s. It's great and my daughter just read it, too.

Tough to separate the son from the dad, and I certainly feel for Joe King. But it was hard not to hear the echoes of fundamental Stephen King plot devices: music and cars, how he repeats key phrases and so forth. I wouldn't say this work kept me guessing to the end or was utterly original (come on! How many craggy-faced scary old men can we have in literature? How about a craggy-faced scary old woman for a change, lol?) But it was original. It kept me glued. And it did scare me:)

Birkaç ay önce, Simyacı'nın versaón en español'unu okumaya başlamıştım. Gerçekten hemen içine girdim, ama sonra yanlış yerleştirdim ... :( Rağmen, çok uzun zaman önce, buldum! = D
