Jeremy Cartwright jeremycartwright — Tough to separate the son from the dad, and I certainly feel for Joe King. But it was hard not to hear the echoes of fundamental Stephen King plot devices: music and cars, how he repeats key phrases and so forth. I wouldn't say this work kept me guessing to the end or was utterly original (come on! How many craggy-faced scary old men can we have in literature? How about a craggy-faced scary old woman for a change, lol?) But it was original. It kept me glued. And it did scare me:)
