Overly long-winded or maybe I am just not the McKinley type.

This is a great collection of short stories by an amazing writer. David Levithan is able to show and convey that love just is. Sometimes it lasts, sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s not, but it exists all the same. Some of my favorite stories were (in order of appearance): “Starbucks Boy”, “Miss Lucy Had A Steamboat”, “The Number Of People That Meet On Airplanes”, “Princes”, and “Skipping The Prom”. I also really liked “Without Saying”. It was mysterious and confusing in the best way possible. As soon as I finished, I went back and read it over again. Overall, if you’re looking for a story with heart, there is a good chance you’ll find that story in this collection. I urge anyone who believes that love can defy gender, age, and sexuality to check this book out because as Levithan himself puts it: “It doesn’t have to be on Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t have to be by the time you turn eighteen or thirty-three or fifty-nine. It doesn’t have to conform to whatever is usual. It doesn’t have to be kismet at once, or rhapsody by the third date. It just has to be. In time. In place. In spirit. It just has to be.”

I enjoyed this wild ride with Alice, always wondering what might be around the next turn. What a wild imagination Carrol had--very inspiring both in the amount of creative craziness, and the crafting of his words. Very fun...

mix of creepy voyeurism and modern history. sometimes hilarious and sometimes shocking, and sometimes quite touching (metuchin')

A good book, better than I thought initially although it was predictably happy-ending (kind of).

the book from which both the musical "camelot" and the animated disney feature "the sword in the stone" were drawn, it's charming, funny, heartbreaking, and surprisingly pertinent in a world at war.

Once again, someone found some scraps of parchment with the name of Judas and the whole concept of Christianity is therefor attacked. Dr. Ehrman starts out by saying that the writings were not by Judas nor probably written by anyone who knew Judas. He then goes on to say that they were probably gnostic papers and then proceeds to attack the four gospels in the New Testament, tries to prove a coverup by he Church, debunk the concept of a Christ or Messiah, all on a scholarly basis. The fact that Christains believe in the Messiah has a great deal more to do with the faith of the followers. This can never be proven or for that matter disproven by Scholars and Historians. What amazes me the most is that the book is about a newly founf "gospel" which consists of scraps (illustrated in the book), but the book does not say what they contain. Once you get past his three chapters of introduction, every chapter is a repeat of the one before it realing nothing.
