Matilda Kjell matildakjell — The sequel to What She Craves, which began on Christmas Eve, picks up nearly 2 months later, as the happy ménage trio of best friends Con Walker, Devon Mason, and Tory Jeffries near their first Valentine's Day together. Lately, the dark and intense Con has started to have jealous feelings when Tory is with his best buddy, the more laid back Devon--he wants her all to himself! He plans a surprise Valentine's getaway for the trio without consulting Devon. Devon is miffed--Tory is his, too! Shouldn't they be sharing all decisions regarding Tory? Devon and Con need to work out their feelings of possessiveness and jealousy or this happy ménage is going to be over before it barely started, since Tory loves both of her hunky lovers and will not give up either of them! Not bad. Certainly hot enough. Just wish there was a bit more detail, besides the sex scenes. I'm still not sure what the wealthy Con and Devon do for a living, except that maybe it has something to do with the stock market? Somehow this fact is eluding me!:) If you've read What She Craves, you'll want to follow up with this one. It does portray a realistic vision of what must go on in these happy little ménages. I would imagine that hurt feelings, jealousies, and possessiveness play a large part...it can't all be utter bliss! 3 1/2 stars

Prity Ahmed prityahmed — Charles Cornick is the enforcer for his father’s werewolf pack. He’s responsible for hunting down and killing any renegade wolves who aren’t following pack rules. He’s ruthless and very good at his job. This is a hard life and has made Charles seem cold and distant to most others. Anna Latham Cornick knows the other side of Charles, as she’s his mate. She was turned into a werewolf against her will and brutalized by her pack for years. She’s slowly adjusting to her new role as Charles’s wife and her role as Omega. As an Omega she’s able to calm the emotions of other wolves and is considered an asset to the pack. Charles's father Bran is the leader of all the North American packs and he's decided that it's time the werewolves reveal themselves to humans. Not everyone is on board with this decision. He sends Anna and Charles to meet with a delegation of alpha wolves from Europe to discuss the implications this will have for the wolves. While there Anna is attacked by a group of vampires that seem to be wielding pack magic. Now Charles and Anna must find out if the attack was personal or a warning to Bran. Hunting Ground is the second book in the Alpha and Omega series. It continues to build on the relationship between Anna and Charles while furthering the storyline of revealing the pack to humans. Although they are mates, Anna is still wary because of the traumatization she suffered with her old pack. Charles makes a great hero because he's so understanding of Anna's situation. I love the way their relationship is developing slowly throughout the books as they learn about each other. Anna is really starting to grow as an omega wolf becoming more confident with her abilities. We also get to see a softer side of Charles as he takes care of Anna even if it means denying his need to protect her. Ms. Briggs does a great job of blending urban fantasy, romance and mystery in this book. The action is non-stop and there are several twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. Even though the book is about werewolves, fae and vampires, the way it's written made it feel as if it could be real. The characters are fleshed out and the world building is done in a very believable way. There are also a lot of new characters introduced in this book, and I'm hoping that we'll get to learn more about them as this series evolves. Overall this was a great read and I can't wait for future installments!
