Kamil Skałecki skalecki — I know that some have not liked this book and I am not sure I would have stayed with it except that I was listening to it and it makes a very good read aloud. I especially liked that they used two readers, one for Margaret and one for Vida. This morning I had to just sit and listen to the end because I really want to see how it turned out.

Renata Asunaga renatinhah — What I learned from this book was to hate myself and be ashamed of loving women. It wasn't until "Patience and Sarah" Isabel Miller's 1972 landmark lesbian novel which depicts a love affair between two women in early 19th-century New England, that I saw positive role models for lesbians.

Lorena Cerqueira lolobolha97 — Thursday Next, former "Litera Tech", is pregnant and hiding out in an houseboat in an unpublished work of detective fiction as part of the Character Exchange Program. Next is apprenticed to Miss Havesham (of Great Expectations) as a "Jurisfiction" agent. Jurisfiction is the law enforcement within book world. Next is involved in solving mysterious deaths, testing a new book format, passing her Jurisfiction exam, and taking care of her Granny Next who decides to live with her through out the pregnancy. In order to read your first Jasper Fforde novel, you need suspend your need to know what is going on. Eventually some of it will make sense. These books are insane, humorous, fast-paced, and much too weird for several of my friends. This is my personal favorite Fforde novel.

Hubert Lafore hubertlafore — Patti Smith's memoir is poetically written. Her tender portrait of her lover-turned-friend Robert Mapplethorpe takes the reader through the blossoming of two artists, set in New York City during the 1960s and 1970s. Wonderful snapshots of the city and cameos of famous artists and authors bring this story to life. Highly recommended.
