Kyle Leon vitiligomiracle — I really enjoyed this book. It is very true to reality in the small towns in Utah that I have "lived" in. The way the Mormon's are shown is pretty funny, and accurate for some, in some small towns. It was an easy read, and had lots of good points about life lessons. There is a bit of Mormon bashing, and some swearing, but it's all done, in my opinion, in good taste. I would recommend reading this book to learn about life in rural Utah, as well as live a cowboy fantasy of your own.

Anderson Felício feliciob1bf — I loved this book. For me, the detail in which Franzen writes ameliorates the characters he writes about. I liked the intergenerational relationship patterns and the scope of the novel. I was not put off by the ending. I plan to read The Corrections soon but need to take a breather from Franzen.

Ekaterina Koliaskina katiekatherine888 — This was a miserable read. I have a few family members who really love Johansen so I decided to give her a try. The main characters in the book are so obnoxious that I wanted to tear my hair out. It felt like the plot went round and round in the same hackneyed circle. I think the only reason I was able to finish this novel is I am slightly OCD and was hoping to see one of them die.

Lais Santos laisinha — Another "letters book" a la 44 Charing Cross. this time the main character is herself a writer of magazine articles just after world war 2. her correspondence with the guernsey group is fascinating, sweet, and nostalgic. such a shame that the internet has pretty much killed letter-writing of this sort.
