Pascal Haaf pascalhaaf — An absolutely fantastic read. To me the appeal of this book was not so much in the accounts and details presented, but the fact that it makes you think deeply of what it means to be a human being in the scheme of things of the whole universe, of time. There are things we fight over that, when the truth would be revealed, would seem insignificant, bordering on giving us absolute shame. Anyone who has questions on who we are, what our existence means and why we are the way and where we are, please read this one. It will open up a whole new world of reading for you, away from romance and thrillers and fiction, leading you right into the world of the sublime, the ethereal and the endless.

Monsak Phaovanij monsak — I've loved every Gerald Lund book I've read. I love how he writes a novel that introduces me to an event/time in history and writes it in a way that is intriguing. I had never even heard of the Hole in the Rock Pioneers. I found there journey inspiring and faith promoting. I highly recommend this book!

Mohamed Osama _ohosama — I enjoyed this collection of fiction from the pages of "Christopher Street" magazine. First published in the late 1970s and early 1980s these stories consider the human condition and deal with gay issues in the way they should be presented, naturally. The writers included are both well-known and promising new writers. The title story is a short piece by Christopher Bram, but Edmund White, Andrew Holleran, Felice Picano and Kate Millett are also included. Perhaps the most interesting story is about an atypical Wall Street lawyer from the pen of Tennessee Williams. I would recommend this diverse collection to all readers who enjoy short gay-themed fiction.

Stefano Licitra _tefano_icitra — This book tells the story of the sub-prime mortgage crisis from the perspective of those who saw it coming. These are the guys who shorted triple-A rated collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) and made piles of money. It's interesting because it has you anxiously awaiting, and almost looking forward to, the collapse of the financial system...even though it spells layoffs, major losses to portfolios and the start of The Great Recession. However, this book lacks the humor of Michael Lewis' Home Game, doesn't adequately explain some financial terms and is sometimes repetitive in its explanations of others. I'm now reading Liar's Poker and it is much funnier.
