Abraham De abdelarosa — I find the story of the HeLa cells very compelling, but this book just digs too deep and gives too much medical/scientific background for me. I made it about 30% through the book and couldn't get past standardizing cultures. I feel that I got the basics of what happened and for me, that was enough. As I didn't finish the book, I'm not sure of how this all ended, but I'm amazed that we could take a tissue sample from her without permission and make so much money off of it...and her family is never compensated. Very, very sad....

Shota I shotaibara119f — Light, fluffy and very interesting - much like Ms Francis. She admits to mostly leading a charmed life and the book overflows with the bubbly feeling of that. With her life in the theatre, movies and television she had met most of the big names of the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. There are some fun stories, some poignant stories but overall it was a story of the life of a very popular star who wasn't a superstar but was well loved.

Francesco Ballestrazzi fballestrazzi — Very engaging, fast-paced story, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it gave me a lot to think about.
