Rising Storm is the 4th book in the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. In this book, Tigerclaw has just been exiled from the ThunderClan. Fireheart can't help but shake the feeling that he isnt too far away. Everyone is still feeling a little bit off. Fireheart is happy though that he has become the new deputy. Will Tigerclaw take his revenge? My connection to this book is to Fireheart. I always feel like i am being watched. I know it sounds stupid but its true. It is a scary feeling. I would give this book 5 stars! It feels so real all the time. It is exciting and fun! It is an awesome book!

Good stories. I think this book hit me a little too late though. I would have liked it a lot better if I had read it as a kid. But I still can't help but love the grandmother and all of her crazy shenanigans.

This book is an account of the events in the lives of well-off americans , living in a gated community on the one hand and what happens at the same time to a couple of Mexican illegal immigrants (I dislike that term), trying to survive in the same area. While reading the voice of the american it is not hard to imagine and see his life. But then, while reading the voice of the mexican it is equally easy to imagine his life and how devastating the circumstances are. At times it is really disturbing, both what happens to the mexicans and the transformation in the american. Very skillfully written and I definitely recommend it to anyone living in an area like mine, where there are "illegal" imiigrants around for sure.

This wasn't a favorite book to read but it did have enough information to keep me reeled in; I like WWII books and find them fascinating. I'm a Biology AND Biochem major but I found the details about animals and nature too detailed and digressing from the story. However, I found it interesting that some people in my book group found the details worthwhile because they didn't have that background. Could it really be one of those situations that knowing too much makes that same thing boring? I did find many facts about Poland and the Polish people interesting, and I also learned a lot about people helping the Jews and the people, in general, living in wartime Poland. I always thought that it was only a select handful who were brave enough to help Jews, but the stats given in the book are astounding. How they helped them was too (surgeries to change a Jew's nose or circumcision, to teaching women "Hail Mary" recitations, to name a few). I believe that Antonia's journals might actually have been more interesting to read than the author's; but I also believe that if I were to author a book, I would likely present the story as the author had. There is no doubt how much research she put into the book, and how thorough (and likely accurate) she was in her details. The way she wrote the book appears to me that she wanted to ensure that readers understood where her information was coming from (her research or Antonia's journals).

i know this is controversial--i'd heard it wasn't as good as his other books before i read it. But despite the fact that it didn't have the magical realism elements of his other books, i found similarity in that I felt completely immersed in the world of the book while i was reading it. And it was very compelling without having much of a plot.

Orwell, 1984. Orwell- a father of ‘’’Big brother’ term. Something makes me think that 1984, as well as Animal farm, where an ordered books after all. This feeling keeps with me through the book and I can’t get rid of it. Now I think it would be better if I didn’t read it, I would have a better opinion on Orwell.
