This book takes the "work smarter not harder principle" and runs with it, expands it. The central premise is that there is likely a huge imbalance in the effectiveness of your actions (for example, 20% of what you do may be producing 80% of your results) and you should learn what that 20% is - what it tells you about what you are best suited to do - and double and triple down. There are a lot of chapters that discuss situations in businesses very different from what I do that weren't as engaging or as obviously useful as others and I don't know that I always enjoyed the author's writing style -- but I did find it a lot of food for thought. A lot of the concepts that were dealt with were a bit surprising and not the easiest to grasp --- and I don't know that the author necessarily did the best job of explaining. (For e.g. there's one chapter that says it's much better to be intelligent and lazy than intelligent and hardworking - but I finished the chapter not entirely sure what "intelligent and lazy" meant - though I guessed it might have to do with taking more time figuring out what is important and doing just that - rather than just taking action --- it probably said that somewhere actually - and it's pretty much the them of the book -- but I didn't feel like I had a clear picture of the kind of laziness he was talking about) Anyway, finished the book and now am just beginning to process. :)

This was a ton of undying love. Sweet at first, but then crazy and seemed to repeat over and over. I get it you love each other more than any two people could ever love each other. Enough already. Mr Darcy takes a wife was 100 times better and I need to read it again after this one.

Wow, no wonder Barak Obama cites this as one of his most influential reads. The burning question throughout is "has anything fundamental changed?" Unfortunately, I think the answer is no. A great discussion book.

I very interesting look at manufacturing in China. The book is easy to read and basically the authors experiences while working in China to broker deals between Chinese factories and importers. I recommend it.

Bloodshot is an entertaining supernatural conspiracy thriller. The narrator, Raylene is a vampire professional thief, though in this book she becomes something of a detective when her latest client, another vampire, asks her to obtain the records from the experimental government program that left him blind. Raylene is highly capable, witty, and neurotically overprepared. (I think her greatest vampire superpower is the ability to fit quite so much stuff in her bag.) I always appreciate finding a female protagonist who doesn't need saving, especially in the somewhat problematic vampire genre. I also very much liked Sister Rose/Adrian, a drag queen who kicks ass with or without sparkles and heels due to being an ex-Navy SEAL. The book was quite a page-turner (even if I saw one important plot twist coming a mile off). There's disguises, chases, and stuff blowing up aplenty, though some of the most effective moments are the more quietly paranoid and tense sections. Overall, this is a satisfying quick read for those who want a vampire book that won't make you feel like you've failed at feminism for reading it.

I love Christopher Moore's style. I didn't laugh aloud as much as at "Lamb", but this was still a great, easy read.
