Loved it! The Black Dagger Brotherhood series was suggested to me by an employee at Borders while I was in search of the newest Sookie Stackhouse book. Dark Lover has just the right combination of romance, sex, action, good vs. evil, etc...I did have a hard time with the names/spellings if The Brotherhood (Wrath, Rhage, Zsadist...) but no biggie. Look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I read this book sometime last year, loved it, and am reading it again. It's definitely worth picking up, and I love the plot. Most believable, and I love the name "Tamar".

Another strange offering from Jones in which Howard Sykes is hounded by the Goon for the two thousand words he literally owes to Archer, one of several strange wizards who own the town in which Sykes lives and control things like public utilities, music and law enforcement. Sykes refuses to pay up, not believing that Archer has any real power over him and the family comes in for a lot of unusual trouble as a result.

A pretty good true crime read. The early history of the Mariel boat lift and the Cuban military operations in Angola are interesting and the descriptions are very vivid. The descriptions of the casino systems and security are also interesting. In some ways the book is helped by the author's interviews with the gang leader who is now in prison, but this is all a major drawback that many readers may find annoying as the gang leader is prone to bragging and rationalization (the multiple deaths of guards killed he blames on them --"It was there own fault, all I wanted was to take the money, if they had just given me the money they would still be alive."

I also very much love the moors as a reflection of life around them (or vice versa) and life beyond. The dark, stormy moors–where only low-growing plants such as heather thrive–symbolize the passionate and sometimes perverted emotional lives of the residents of Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange. It is a fascinating, must-read.

This is such a fun read! There was more depth and energy in this book than I expected based on the cover. I was impressed with how the author was able to write this in such a casual and appealing way, yet still weave a great story line. Plus, I have absolutely adopted her use of sketches in the margin with my students. Great read - especially for young boys!

I've bought copies and sent them to friends as gifts and those friends have subsequently passed the recommendation or even their book on. It's funny, surprising, and educational... for me anyway.
