I really liked this book. Probably like most people I thought vampires to be like the Anne Rice ones (a bit disappointed that they might not be, because I love Lestat and Marius). I never imagined that vampires could be more like psychic entities. While reading this book, I was also completely shocked to find out that when I was a child I was the victim of a psychic vampire attack! I've been a horrible insomniac for as long as I can remember, never able to sleep and always staying awake for most of the night and now it makes sense why! It was a bit terrifying to read some of the encounters and know it was the same as what had happened to me, but I feel better knowing how to explain that weird occurrence when I saw a creature with red eyes right beside my bed and wasn't able to move or cry out because I was paralyzed. He also included in his final chapter rituals for protection, which I fully intend on doing even though it has been years. I also liked how he went into detail about different vampire beliefs from around the world. He also included letters he'd gotten from mortal vampires, I think. They were interesting to read. So if you want vampires to be Lestat, don't read this because you might be disappointed. On the other hand, if you're just curious about occult things like I am, then it's a very good read. The only problem I had is that throughout his book, he kept referring to his other books (but maybe he had to say that because it was for the Llewellyn series). loved it

Thoreau opened my eyes to the spirituality of Nature; the one belief that has stuck with me longer than most.

Wow. I can't believe how much I didn't like this book!! I've loved this entire series up until now, and didn't even mind spending $12.99 for the ebook... but I'm so disappointed. Honestly, it was all I could do to even finish this book. I forced myself to read it all the way through because I was convinced I'd miss something important if I didn't. I'm now convinced that I could've quit and I wouldn't have missed anything of interest. This book just didn't "fit" for me. A new setting, a whole new cast of characters... and I didn't find any of it very interesting. I would've much rather been back in the Tri-Cities tagging along on more Pack adventures with the characters that I already know and love. The whole Native American walker/shifter folklore "thing" was absolutely lost on me. I found it all very confusing and hard to follow. And, I was expecting to learn more about Mercy's background/heritage, but didn't really feel that that happened either. I'm still not sure I understand who/what her father was/is... and I couldn't tell you WHO those other people/creatures were. I really hope that the next installment of this series goes back to what worked in the first five books!!

The Calcutta Chrmosome is quite quaint in its own queer way. The book clearly establishes the fact that Amitav Ghosh is one of the better Indian writers. The book, though a work of fiction, is very well rechearched and well written. The character build-up is quite nice and strong. The only lack in the book is the presence of a definite storyline. The book is a sci-fi.

Each pregnancy loss is definitely uniquie, but I repeatedly found myself relating to each of the women in the novel Baby Dust. At times I felt like the author had read my mind and penned my thoughts and emotions. I was reaching for the book at every spare moment I had.

It's Cussler. It's Dirk Pitt. Fun read, but not the most captivating of Cussler's Dirk Pitt stories.
This guy is pretty awesome. With the english translations I can't quite tell why this particular collection of essays was assembled. I found a number of essays here I read in Thoughts of Sorts / Sorts of Thoughts. That said, he's awesome. Highly recommended.

The second installment of a series and it's got me reeled in for sure. Unfortunately, there is currently no audio version of the next book. Lots of intrigue, twists and turns in this story. If you think you've got something or someone figured out, there's a good chance you're wrong. Scholes did a good job of world building, and placed within it some interesting and layered characters. There are some real despicable bad guys, the kind you really want to see get their due.

Başka bir tane okuyacağım. Gerçekten büyük bir gizem değil, tatlı ve bir hayaleti var. Joan Fluke kitaplarının düzeninde ama aslında cinayet olmadan.
