i did enjoy this book and liked hunter as a character. the only down side for me was it didnt focus enough on the main characters and seemed to busy setting up the next book for chase

While the book wasn't so bad I put it down and didn't finish it, the plot was predictable and the characters mundane. Glad I picked it up cheap.

I finished. Amazing. I was somewhat amused to revisit all of the major characters they've had throughout the series. I was also amused that the commentary of what kind of people mostly populate the world we live in. But the pontificating that goes on for pages and pages, I could have done without. What was it with everyone trying to pair Richard with Nicci? Think they may have a say in the whole thing? Everyone was extreme. So basically, if it wasn't for the fact that I really wanted to know how the whole thing ended, I don't think I could have slogged through to the end. Which I guess says something - it was a good enough story that I did want to know how it ended. However, I read the book in just over a day because I skimmed through the majority of it - like watching a show on TiVo in fast forward. I'm glad I'm done with it.

A great follow up book to "Dark Lover." I enjoyed getting to know the other Brothers (in this case Rhage) and their background. This book left me wanting to know more about Zsadists.

I really reckon one should listen to this or forget about it. I can't imagine this having any sort of the kind of impact that listening to STEVE MARTIN tell you the story of his stand up days, complete with bits here and there revisited. Its really hilarious, and sad too.

Disappointing given the accolades. The pieces were there, a small town college girl hired by a couple as a nanny to a yet to be adopted biracial child, the mysterious boyfriend who turns out to be a terrorist?, the unspoken secret of the couple, etc. But it comes off in a meandering way, with lots of self-indulgent dialogue/narrative. Kept hoping it would improve. It didn't.
