Excellent! Not too brain-taxing, but not too fluffy, either. I loved all the characters and will definitely be buying more from this series. It may sound odd, but one of the things I really liked was the short chapter length. It somehow moved the story along nicely, and I was able to read the shorter chunks in between all the other stuff I was needing to accomplish.

I rounded this one up! lol It was a 3.75 stars for sure, but a very fun, easy, lighthearted read. I really enjoyed this story, I just found the ending to be too long and almost a bit too much, but that's pretty common in Gaelen's books, and if I really didn't like it I wouldn't keep reading them!! hehe

A classic read, though sadly not very well-known. It may start off a little slow but once the plot picks up it really sucks you in. If you can get your hands on a copy (my library doesn't have it but i already owned a copy), i would highly recommend that you read this one!

Most reviewers talk about the music mentioned in the book. Don't get me wrong its a good mix of songs. But for me the real magic is the story. What a coming of age story! You've got it all in this book. Love,friendship,betrayal,learning who you are as a person. Not to mention the drugs, sex and rock&roll. Not many writers can really bring characters to life in a way that is believable but Murray does it so well. It makes me wonder if Murray will pull and Updike with Colin and give us other books as time passes in Colins life. I for one hope he does revisit Colin. I got this copy of the book free from the author but in no way did it influence my opinion of this work. Its a great contemporary book and if you like that genre you should definitely not miss this title.

Don't let your kids read. The covers of some of these books remind me of the Twilight series covers.( The whole black and red combo) These were all the rage when I was a teen and of course Twilight is it now. I wonder if that was done on purpose.
