It was okay. Seems to by written almost for young teens. Very simple read, but can relate to the nightmare boss.

Once again, Richelle Mead delivers. I loved this book!!!!!! Instead of following Rose and Lissa, we got a new perspective from Sydney, Adrian and Jill Dragomir. Jill must be protected because there are those who threaten to kill her, so that Lissa can no longer be on the throne. Sydney is under pressure from the Alchemists to protect Jill by hiding her at a private high-school, yet dissuade her from becoming too close to the vampires. As she spends time with them, they begin to grow on her, and life becomes more complicated, both on and off campus.

A challenging read, but well worth it. Written in 1922, it's one of the first modern fantasies. It's prose took a while to get used to, but once I got a feel for the flow of the language the story and characters really come alive. It was great departure from my typically modern fare.

I was required to read it for AP Language and Composition, but we did not read the whole thing. I do not plan on reading the chapters we skipped, however, so it is going on my "read" shelf.

This is another book like Karen Chance's books; it's shelved with the romances, but it's anything but. The romance isn't a love-st-first-sight thing, thank god. There's plenty of sex for the protagonist, and it's not all with the same partner, which is unusual for romances. The sex is very well-written, the plot is twisty and fun, and the main character, Riley, is very likable. She's smart and tough, but she's not obnoxiously spunky. The "love" story, if it can be called that, is an aborted one, though I get the distinct feeling Quinn, the love/sex interest, will be back in later books.

Definitely a clever book. Really makes you grasp logic and life. Philosophy. What is life? Who are you? What is power? What allows something to survive mentally? all questions answered in Ishmael...

In his old age, Borges--using Kipling's Plain Tales from the Hills as his model--crafted these deceptively straightforward narratives in a new laconic style. Argentinian history, the half-savage Pampas, the criminals of the Buenos Aires' slums, and duels (both actual and metaphorical) are the subjects of these tales. They are all worthwhile, and three of them--The Interloper, The Encounter, and the Gospel According to Mark--are as good as anything he ever wrote.

I really appreciated Shaila's writing. It was lyrical and beautiful, something that I have come to expect from South Asian authors. I loved her analogies and descriptions. To me, that helped bring Arissa to life and I felt her sadness and despair at suddenly being a widow in a world that might hate her for the color of her skin. Complete review on my blog

Simmons'ı sevdiyseniz muhtemelen Prep'i de seveceksiniz. Eğer öncekine aldırmadıysan, daha sonra atlamanı öneririm.
