Beautifully-written, sweetly funny essays about Fadiman's love of reading.

Very formulaic young-adult mystery. Has some clever dialogue.

Fabulous read. Not only was the story gripping, but the ending surprised me and made me want to re-read it.

The first part of this novel was interesting because there was a constant threat of Pamela losing her virtue- it was a bit like a Lifetime movie. Then, however, the threat disappears and everything slows WAY down.

Another installment of one of my favorite series! I liked the main couple (Riaz and Adria) much more than I thought I would. They were both damaged people who were in desperate need of comfort and love. There were some definite obstacles to their HEA, but I think they achieved it pretty well. I loved all the little tidbits we got of previous couples especially Mercy/Riley, Sienna/Hawke, and, my favorites, Judd/Brenna. I love how complex the Psy-Changeling world is and how much suspense is involved in the overarching storylines. There is so much going on and I can tell things are about to get very messy. I can't wait to read the next installment especially if it involves that little hint we got at the very end!

It's very intense - I wouldn't read it unless you are not squeamish or violently against war. It's basically a book about a guy who joins up in the army (by a strange sort of accident, really) and learns all the stuff. It's really futuristic and very believable - when you are reading it you fully expect him to pop out randomly in public. It teaches a lot of good values, and it never swears. So far. Which I find very refreshing. I mean, there is references like 'he cursed' and stuff like that, but nothing is said. I would recommend this to people who like Sci-Fi, and who like action. If you were randomly browsing and pick this book up, I would wait it out and think about it. Nothing bad is described, but you do get the feeling of rather wanton killing, especially in the beginning chapter.

The Grandmother in A Good Man is Hard to Find is a physical presence in her family, but she is not respected or listened to by her son Bailey. When he is reading the paper at the beginning of the story he ignores her. The Grandmother sneaks the cat in the car behind Bailey’s back, as if she were his child. Then she and the children whine to get Bailey to take them to the plantation she remembered from her past. O’Connor portrays the Grandmother as a woman stuck in the past, and as a child who does not want to grow up. She just could not help herself when she saw the Misfit. She behaves like a little girl who has not yet learned when not to speak. After the mother identifies the Misfit Bailey says something to the Grandmother, probably to shut her mouth. Bailey is in the position of adult and his mother is a child. The Grandmother’s mind set led to the death of her family. The Grandmother reminds me as an adult I have a responsibility to face the present and the future, although they may be scary and confusing.
