This book is the story of two men who bought a minor league baseball team. One of the owners is the author. The book is horribly written and completely self serving. I am interested in minor league baseball, especially since the franchise these men bought was moved to become my local Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. However, I had a difficult time getting through the poorly written self praise of the author.

Love it. I first read The Stand in college, and I didn't remember most of it. I do not agree with the millions of readers who say this is Stephen King's best book, but I did become very attached to several of the characters (especially Larry, and Stu, Frannie, and Tom) and I am sad to be done with it. Maybe I'll read it again in another 30 years.

I LOVED this book. It's part sci-fi, part hard-boiled detective novel. A robot designed for world domination rebels against his programming, and becomes a cab driver. When the family next door is kidnapped, Mack Megaton realizes that he's the only one who cares enough to go looking for them. Hilarity insues in the form of a sentient ape, aliens, and a classy dame who's warm for Megaton's form (even 'bots think technophiles are weird). I really enjoyed Martinez's first novel, Gil's All Fright Diner, and hadn't realized he'd written anything else. I picked this one up without even reading the back, and I was not disappointed.

Jawaban akan pertanyaan-pertanyaan ini terjawab ketika sang tokoh utama mendapatkan pekerjaan sebagai seorang "giver" dimana kemudian dia mengetahui alasan dibalik kesempurnaan dunia tempatnya tinggal dan memutuskan untuk mencari dunia yang sesungguhnya.
