Tatiana Kh z_l — Around this point, the series begins to change from something solely for children to an narrative which contains the deep mystery and terrible beauty of life in all its complexity. In short, the series matures into something that adults can read and resonate with.

Mike Legan _ike_egan — Reading the old edition, not the new one. Superb ability to reflect the global nature of WWII and illustrate the way various theatres affected other ones. Not an in-depth military history (will have to read Lidell Hart for that) but very strong as a diplomatic history and as an economic one (at least to the extent necessary to provide understanding of diplomatic motivations.) Does not hide from the issue of atrocities and genocide, and skilfully weaves them into the overall narrative. Devotes a lot of attention to the home front, which is appropriate. Stresses ideoligical motivations of Hitler without much debate regarding them, which is the main disappointment, along with a fairly one-dimensional portrayal of FDR.

John Ramsay johnramsaycompan — I read about half of this book and had to return it to the library (after renewing it twice). I was intrigued by what I read and want to finish it - I just got distracted with Fablehaven and Ender.

Bach Mai bachblame — A thoroughly average decent sci-fi book. Could have used a lot more editing I think.
