A fantastic take on the Robin Hood legend. Lawhead did some research and discovered that the legend likely originated within Celtic lore and this is the setting in which the book takes place. Pronouncing the character's names can be a daunting task, but their story and development throughout this setup novel are top-notch. This will be another good triology from one of "fantastorical" fiction's finest authors.

There should be nothing but stark reality surrounding this subject, so none of us delude ourselves into thinking the slavery was just part of the romance of the south as in Gone With the Wind. The life of a slave, told by slaves.

This Holocaust survivor convinced me that a search for significance and purpose lies at the center of our existence. And, that life holds a capacity for significance under any circumstances.

I love how the author shows both perspectives, not just POV of self, but of each other as well. The "almost but not quite" about each other fits so many scenarios in life. It captures the reality of some conflict/ miscommunication.

I'm not sure why I did not care for it as much as others. Maybe it is because I was not as surprised on the findings? Who knows.

It took me a while to get into this book. I didn't like this one as much as "Angels & Demons", which was awesome. This story didn't have as much excitement as the other one and Susan Fletcher isn't as interesting as Robert Langdon. When the story developed, I really liked it and at some points I didn't want to put it down. Browns stories are a bit complicated, because he uses a lot of difficult terms, but it was still easy to follow. It turned out to be good after all, something I didn't expect when I started reading.

well, it was a great read. I know I was meant to read the bits in the middle that talked about brands and communications, but I found the story of the agency more interesting...so i kind of skipped that bit. I did backtrack.
