I had a love-hate relationship with this book the entire time I was reading it. The main character, the hideously named Undine Spragg, is so repulsive and annoying that I almost put the book down several times because I had no desire to read any more about her. But just when I was about to really close the book for good, the book changed gears and followed the path of one of her suitors, Ralph Marvell, for a while and I felt so awful for him after the way she had treated him that I got reabsorbed in the book, hoping to see his fate turn out alright. When his story line petered out, it was back to Undine who at that point was not doing so well anymore, so I kept reading to see her downfall. I don't mean to say that it's a bad book by any means. Edith Wharton is a wonderful writer and I always love reading about old New York (although much of the book takes place in France). I was just so horrified by some of the characters that I had a hard time not hating it at times. I guess I should say that the characters were drawn so well that I could not help but despise the evil ones. If I didn't care about them one way or another, then it would not have been as good of a book.

I'm not even sure if this is supposed to be a serious attempt at writing... This book was free on the Barnes & Noble Nook market place and as a supporter of indie authors I thought I would give it a shot. It is obvious that this is a first attempt at writing. The only other review on Goodreads understates it could use some editing. In my opinion, this person's forte isn't writing. Writing takes time, skill, and creativity and is most certainly not for everyone. While reading Two Lives...One Diary I felt like I was reading the creative writing assignment of a middle school student. It is often confusing and the main character is constantly using phrases that don't make sense. There is a point in the story where a girl gets stabbed with a needle by a homeless guy she is giving food to... While this is strange in itself, the main character suggests she will die if he doesn't remove it and cut off the blood flow. Ok, from a needle? I get that she could get AIDS if the guy was infected and was using it for drugs, but come one, the girl is not going to die from loss of blood due to a needle. Although I cannot accept this as an actual book/novella, I will say the author came up with an interesting concept. The main character lives two different lives, one in the real world and one in the dream world. I think Array would be more successful at selling ideas for stories rather than writing them.

Ok, so the book starts off slower than slow. I actually re-read the beginning after a certain point, just to understand what was going on. I was then sucked in, trying to figure out 1. what happened & 2. how all of the characters were going to come together. Many, many parts of the book were gruesome & disturbing. Would I recommend the book? Maybe. Will I read the next few, no, the preview of book 2 was too disgusting to fathom. I am curious to know more about "the girl w/ the dragon tattoo" & her life, yes, but it will just have to stay that way for now!

Highly entertaining. This is a fresh twist on fairy godmothers. It has pretty much every thing I needed to get back on reading. It was very fun, had princess, magic, dragons and one very mischievous fairy godmother. Full review to come... (I pinky promise!)

I won't go into the details of the plot. If you want that, you can read the summary of the book. What I will do is say I enjoyed it and thought it was an interesting looking into small village life. It's one of the better books in the series.

Okuduğum tüm bu tür kitaplardan (Alacakaranlık, Geceleme, Sookie Stackhouse, Vampir Kraliçe Betsy) bu benim favorim. İlginç araları olan aptal bir aşk hikayesi değil. Gizemi, harika karakter gelişimi ve türe yeni bir bakış açısı var. Özellikle hikayenin güçlü bir kadın karakteri etrafında geliştiğini ve en belirgin ilişkinin inanılmaz bir arkadaşlık olduğunu sevdim. Sonra, sadece merkezi karakteri gerçekten tanıdıktan sonra, bir yan romantizm devreye girer ve sahte hissetmez. Bu yavaş, emin değil ve karakterlerin kendileri gibi bir şeyler öğreniyoruz. "Aman tanrım seni görüyorum ve sen çok ateşlisin, sana aşığım" saçmalısından çok daha gerçekçi. Bu kitabın hedeflediği demografik değilim (ben bir anne ve çalışan profesyonelim), ancak YA kitaplarından hoşlanıyorum çünkü daha gerçek hissediyorlar ve bence yetişkin kitaplarındaki leke çok anlaşılıyor.
