This book was amazing for me when i was about 11 or 12. Really helped me to understand what was to come with "womanhood"

I'm not a 2000AD fan, nor can I usually stand the Alien comics but I was surprised at the quality of this. Not a classic, but there's many worse ways to spend your time.

While they erred in their assessment of the political landscape (thank god), Micklethwait and Wooldridge are two of the best living journalists, and this is perhaps their best book. Outstanding writing, good arguments, and a great knack for historical anecdote make for very enjoyable reading.

This book is *really* one of my absolute favorite books of all time, and it's immensely readable. I still am not brave enough to let my love of this book lead me to other books by Roth. I'm scared they won't live up to it. However, I do own "The Breast," so I might as well give it a go...

** spoiler alert ** I have read this book several times. No -- I've read this series several times. It is my favorite of all series. There are things about this book that I hate but there are overall things that I love. Alright, down to the nitty gritty: As I started this over again, I already knew what was going to happen so I tried looking for things that I most likely skimmed over the first time I read it. I just want to say that: I hate how cocky Jace is. I mean, I just don't get it. We have to have a guy who loves himself to bits and pieces but then we have a girl who, of course, doesn't think she's beautiful. Is there a book out there where the main character, preferablly a girl, thinks she is at least pretty? I don't want conceited but, really... Can't I just have a girl where she thinks she's a little bit attractive? Another: Why can't we just think of something cooler than a magical cup?! I still don't understand how this cup turns people into Shadowhunters, probably just another thing I skimmed over. But why can't we have like, a magic potion, a glass flower, A MAGICAL COW?! But a cup? I liked Alec's idea of a Mortal Toilet Bowl rather than the Mortal Cup. Next: Can we be a little more predictable? Simon is in love with Clary. WOAH, WHO SAID THAT?! Not me, because it wasn't obvious or anything. I hate love triangles. I really do. But if that's all that makes a story then there must be a problem with something or another. On and on again: I do love how Cassandra writes. I know a lot of people say they hate her writing style but, I, for one, love it. I don't like Cassandra Clare as a person, though. I have talked to her once and, she could've been friendlier. THAT'S NOT THE POINT. Alec: This I sorta saw coming. Gay? Nah, I thought that maybe he was hiding something but not the fact that he was in love with Jace. But as I reread it, I saw the foreshadowing more and more. I know this review is tedious and pointless and I haven't even finished my reread. But I know someone agrees with me on most of this..

This book begins not long after the events in Inside Out. Trella is not happy with her situation. She is forced to attend endless committee meetings where nothing is being accomplished. She should be exploring the expanse that was discovered a few weeks ago. Life for the scrubs has not changed as much as it should because the people of Inside continue to think of themselves as Uppers and Lowers. Bigger problems come along that force Trella once again to take charge or be forced to watch her people suffer. This book was a good follow up to Inside Out. There was enough action and mystery to keep the plot going. There are a few new characters in this book and a lot of old ones. I didn't really feel the relationship problems between Trella and Riley. I know Trella pulled back from him in the first book but Riley's thinking didn't make sense to me. The world of Inside is fascinating. I can picture everything the Author describes about the world. I'm not sure if there is another book in this series, but if there is I will read it. If I have to choose a favorite, the first book kept me on the edge of my seat a bit more than this one.

This modern fairy tale version of Beauty and the Beast is not what I expected. The morals of the main character in this book are very low, making it difficult to read. I especially would not reccomend this book to younger readers for that reason. It was interesting seeing how the author kept the book feeling real even though there was an aspect of magic in the whole thing. On the whole, I liked it. Not one that I would seek to read twice though.

** spoiler alert ** The book was good but not incredibly interesting. I am not sure how many students would fall in love with the characters or the storyline. Themes: Finding one's place in the world, someone who is made fun of for being different, and the wonders of childbirth.

A reporter moves in with an Afghani family shortly after the fall of the Taliban, it's a real account of the life of the family, their struggles, frustrations, and hopes. It reads a bit like a PBS documentary, at times a little slow, but always interesting because it's real.
