This book was so good. It kind of reminded me of the Giver. Tally lives in a futuristic society where everyone turns "pretty" on their 16th birthday. When she meets Shay, Tally learns all new things about her city and surrounding cities. Now Tally's not sure if she wants to turn pretty or if she'll be allowed to. Throw in a romance and it's perfect!!

I am getting annoyed at how she is making the Amish out to be the bad guys here. The author is of Amish heritage but no longer Amish so while she respects them for their good qualities she ALWAYS makes sure to have a character in every book who "rises above" I don't know why but that is just bugging me. I still love the books though

Quite an enjoyable read. The last 2 Irving novels that I read involved exploitation of young boys by older women - so this was a refreshing change! Homer Wells is a great character - a true hero (imperfect but in the end he rises above).

Very long (840 pages) and full of lots of details including his early life growing up and his unconventional family life. Author did a fine job of researching Buffett and giving the reader a view of what his thought processes are, his personal values and detailing mistakes he has made along the way.
