At first I thought this was a bit naive and sugar coated in it's style and evagelistic in it's view, but then it turns around and is better in the middle and the end. Coming away from it, I feel that we place much emphasis on events in our lives and little on the healing, perhaps that is what needs to change. While I didn't agree with everything said, it was still thought provoking and a pretty good read.

If you want a book that will make you clean your house and take loads of stuff to DI, look no further. All joking aside, this book was very enlightening. I always looked at hoarders and wondered what in the world is going on - how can people live like that? This book really shows you that it is a mental disease and gives you insight into how people can let it go so far.

Poignant and profound. This fictional account of families on and around Bloodroot Mountain in Appalachia shows how our forebearers run deep within us and sometimes we are bound to repeat history. The characters are so well written--they are clearly flawed and wonderful at the same time. How we sometimes recognize evil and goodness within humanity as magical is also explored. I read this book very quickly because it had me captured--I had to know the outcomes! Messages of truth interwoven with excellent writing left me happy!
