I started reading And Then There Were None on December 30th and on New Year’s eve, all I wanted to do was to go home, make myself a cup of tea and find out who the killer was. That was exactly what I did on January 1, 2011. That’s how engaging this book is. I couldn’t put it down, I was reading in the car on the way to the mall, at the film shop where Jon was getting our films developed. I took Agatha Christie everywhere! I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. I’ve read that this is one of, if not the best that she has written. It will keep you guessing until the very end. I almost don’t want to read another one of her books, I’m afraid I’ll be disappointed but I think I’ll give Murder at Orient Express a chance. It was a great way to spend the first day of 2011.

This was a fun, easy YA read--reminded me of many other "period" YA books I've read. I liked the old-fashioned storytelling structure. Some aspects and characters were a little flat, but there were a few nice twists to a familiar-feeling story.

This book is informative, but on an interesting level. The author tells descriptive interviews from people working in slaughterhouses around the U.S. She describes everything from the people, the settings, and of course their comments and complaints. The book seemed to repeat itself with the "same ol" thing, which did get old, and pretty sickening to read over and over. However, the author made a clear point that animals and workers in the slaughterhouses are not being treated well, especially the animals. I've never actually thought about the process of getting meat on your plate, but after reading this book, it's opened my eyes to real situations that take place that don't HAVE to. Sure, we can eat animals if we really want to but we shouldn't abuse them in the process. I'm not a real animal lover, but after reading this book, my love has grown for all animals.

I honestly cannot find any flaws within this book. (a fair amount of 'typos', but not anything within the story) It was SO good!!!!!!!!!! The author made it such a page-turner, I kept wanting to flip ahead to see what happened! The plot was great and a clever, creative idea for a novel. Again, it was such a page-turner; I finished it in less than a week. Overall, fantastic. Kate Brian did an excellent job.

Hilarious account of two sets of wildlife: the flora and fauna of a Greek Island, and young Durrell's family and friends (the former including his brother Lawrence, who would some day be a famous writer but was then a pretentious, struggling artiste). Worth reading for either or both interests, human or animals 'n bugs.

Mariketa is such a perfect witchy character, in my opinion. She is vulnerable at times and yet as she grows into her powers, frighteningly beautiful at others. Bowen is the relentless and ruthless suitor we all love to hate at times. And at other times...well, let's just say we love to desire him. What a perfect pairing. I couldn't wait to see if these two were truly meant for each other and if they could overcome the roadblocks that were constantly set in their way. This book was an adrenaline rush and I loved the ending
