okay icelandic murder mystery which isn't nearly as good as the subtitle would indicate, but which did keep me up at night reading, so points for that. more iceland please! and maybe a better translation for the next? which i will read, so that should count for something too ...

The first part was fairly boring, it had a few amusing parts but kinda just slight smile level not laugh out loud. Then I got to the middle section and everything past that was so fantastic I couldnt stop laughing, I loved every bit of it, especially the "Things That Arent True At All" section

Jaylen got me to read this book. When I opened up to the first page and read the first sentence I felt as if I was a part of the story. I go for hours reading this book without even thinking about taking a break from reading it. I guess I said all of that just to say that this book is extremely AMAZING!!! CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE NEXT ONE!!!

I thought this book was good but redundant. The author puts emotions behind the facts of Emma and Joseph Smith's lives, which I do think is amazing. Stansfield really makes Emma seem like a human being, an amazing woman of faith and strength, instead of just a figure in the past. But I did feel that some of the book was redundant. Other than that, I liked it.

Atmospheric and creepy. The best haunted house book ever written. Just ask the guy from Bangor, Maine.

I think that Janice Thompson is becoming my new favorite author. This sequel to Fools Rush In picks up where the first book ended, continuing along with just the right combo of humor and sappiness. I found myself gasping in surprise at some parts, and I cannot wait to see how the final book of the trilogy ends.

This book was just ok. A bit depressing. I did really enjoy the ending.
I just can't decide...3 stars or 4? There were so many aspects I enjoyed about this book: Ms. Truong's poetic style of writing; the mouth-watering descriptions of words and the author's ability to truly get me to appreciate food; the emotional depth conveyed, as well as the vivid cast. Still, there was plenty that I didn't like, such as: the over-detailed history of North Carolina; the chaotic jumps in time; the overpowering dialogue; the abrupt change in pace from the first section to the second. See what I mean? For every pro there's a con lurking right behind. While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I'm not so sure I'll hold the same opinion a year from now. Hell, will I remember the characters and plot, or just the feel of the book? This is definitely one of those times I wish we had the option of a half point. Rather than judging on what might be, I think I'll just stick with the here and now. Giving it an extra 1/2 for sheer creativity and passion, I'm going with a 4. Flaws and all, this is a book that should be experienced.
