A fast fun read! Clementine is has more adventures in one week, than most people have in a life time. She is a cross between Judy Moody, Ramona, Junie B. Jones and all the ohter adventurous future leaders.

Complicated relationship with this book, representing as it does an identity connected with a location. But as time (and the neighborhood) passes perhaps it seems less defining.

It was official for me to think That M.L. Rhodes always write a good story. After The Draegan Lord series, I stumble into this and found another beautiful romance with beautiful setting. This story told different view of Vampire/Shifters relationship, how it told that at the beginning, shifters, or the Fels, created to be Mal's, the vampires', protector, and as Mal's source of blood. But somehow, along the way, the Fels turn his way from Mals and started to hunt them down. And in this chaos of clan's war, Shaun and Rannon found themselves attracted to each other and recreated the origin of the relationship between Mals and Fels with their love for each other. I love the fact that Shaun and Ronnan's relationship was grew and stayed over 14 years of separation, how they still yearning for each other and their deermination on protecting their beloved. Ms. Rhodes always made a beautiful stories of love yearning that filled with an overwhelmed angst it made my heart ache. One thing that made me didn't give this one a perfect 5 stars was the fact that the history of The Mals and Fels relationship was left unexplored, and I found that one part was actually essential in the story so we could grab the setting more clearly. But with it left as it is, I just hope that maybe there'd be a continuation of this story. Make it into series, perhaps?

I have mixed emotions toward this book, although this memoir is fundamental toward understanding the veiled world of the Arabian harem in the 19th century, the author's evasiveness was truly exasperating. I ended up learning more about her from reading various journals and articles than this book. She seems to only want to describe her early childhood and adolescent in Zanzibar; life in the harem, domestic habits, fashion and food dominate most of the book. The story of her abandonment of her traditional way of life, her elopement from Zanzibar and life in Europe occupy a measly 28 pages out of the 227 pages in this book. It was definitely an interesting read that drove me as a reader to want to discover more about her.

Rae Wilder's life is very much a normal person's greatest nightmare. She's a Disciple, and she's training to be a Cleric, which means she lives in a world of monsters - vampires, shifters, goblins, witches and faeries, and as a Cleric, she's destined to fight these creatures. When circumstances change one day though, and Rae witnesses Clerics killing a young faerie, she knows she has to run. She happens upon Breandan who reveals Rae's hidden past and ignites a future of adventure, turmoil and struggles both internal and external. I downloaded The Demon Girl onto my Nook because I saw it was up for grabs on Barnes & Noble. With a great cover and a cool, paranormal premise, I was really excited to try a book from a pretty much unknown author. Penelope Fletcher knows her demons. She has this innate ability to make her demons both creepy and terrifying but also human in emotion. The Demon Girl features a fun and intriguing plot full of twists and turns that seems sure to promise a fabulous thrill ride. That said, despite a strong plot, The Demon Girl fell a good bit short for me. To be extremely blunt, the book was riddled with cliches and stereotypes, and everything sort of just fell into place with little or no extreme conflict. I also felt the insta-bond between Breandan and Rae was a bit Twilight-esque, if you will, failing to break through the mold. And, while I can easily overlook a few grammatical errors and such, some of the chapter jumps just killed me. We went from one situation in The Demon Girl to another one, entirely, with no transition at all. I never like to give bad reviews, and I have a penchant for indie books, but The Demon Girl just didn't measure up to it's premise or plot potential for me. Perhaps some people will like it more than me. I give it a 2 out 5, and I'd recommend it to those who enjoy YA paranormal tales, especially those with faeries.

Out of all of Hemingway's works I like this novel the best.My biggest frustration with Hemingway's novels is that the characters never get what they want. They also never say what they mean. Everything is ironical. I like the stories of the bullfights in Pamplona.
