Very heart wrenching and hopeful at the same time. Shows a long journey inside of a girls head, a must read.

I'm usually a big Kleypas fan but I think this one was a bit too "old school romance" for my tastes. I really liked the beginning of the book, before Alex and Lily got together. I liked them both individually and was looking forward to their relationship. That's when it fell apart for me. The sex scenes reminded me of why I didn't read romance back in the 80s and into the early 90s. (view spoiler)

I really liked this sixth book in Mercy Thompson series. (view spoiler) In this book we have to chance to know more about Mercy's origins as I really appreciated to read about it. It was mighty interesting. But even more important than that was to see Mercy and Adam as (view spoiler) That was the best part in the whole book. The cases in the previous ones were much more interesting than this one. Nonetheless it was pretty great to see something different than the usual.

I just loved this book. I read it when I was searching for religion, and the interpreation of God as a learning being was fascinating. My religious friends complete rejection of this view helped lead me back to where I started -- that organized religion just wasn't for me. Highly recommended for anyone trying to find their own relationship with, and definition of, a higher power.

Bird is a runaway. She is looking for her stepfather and tracks him down to a small town in rural Alabama. She hides out on a farm and is discovered by the owner's son, Ethan. Bird has seen Ethan in photos of her stepfather, so she knows that eventually he may visit the farm. A poignant story about facing up to loss and loneliness.

How distressing it is even to read of slavery. Takes place in NY during the start of the Revolution. A state we often forget did allow slavery. Scott O'Dell Historical Fiction Award

Stayed up until two last night to finish this one, another mystery, another tale of past and present bumping up against each other, I loved it!

This is Isabella as muse. More of a rumination than a proper biography. Still, it's interesting.

Mrs. Dalloway grew on me. I've read it three times in college: the first in a Modern British Lit class, the second in my Junior Seminar, and finally in my Comps class. At first, I hated it, especially those page-long sentences of Woolf's, but by the time I started writing about it for my senior project, I was in love. I'm not sure quite what it is, but I think what I love about this book comes down to that quiet desperation underlying the novel and Woolf's depiction of beauty and love.
