I adore this book, and I absolutely love the characters of Aral Vorkosigan and Cornelia Naismith. I had read McMaster Bujold's fantasy books before, and adored them (the Chalion books), but I was afraid of her space opera after I ran amok of her Sharing Knife book (I hated it with a passion). I'm so glad her space opera/romance is so wonderful! The writing is tight, the characters are wonderful and there is enough action and plot to keep anyone happy.

I'm a fan of "The Mortal Instruments" series and I was afraid to read "The Infernal Devices" series... But I have to say that "Clockwork Angel" is a must! There is romance, sadness, fun, action and the most unexpected revelations!! I still don't know which is my fave character... But I like Tessa and with her big passion for books I think she's an easy character some passionate reader like me can relate to! And what about the hard choice? Will or Jem? The beautiful and misterious hero all girls are attracted to or the lovely, kind knight all girls dream of?... Of course Will reminds me of Jace (from "The Mortal Instrument" series), especially for his sense of humour but I think Will is darker and that's why I believe he's more interesting than Jace. I think this series is more mature (and so the writing style), charming, exciting and one of the best thing was to know what had happened before "The Mortal Instruments". After reading this book I had some first answers to certain aspects of the other series and now I can't wait to find out more in the new book, especially because of the suspance the epilogue has left...

TOTALLY AWESOME!!! I LOVED IT!!! IT WAS VERY INTERESTING!!!! I HATE THE PART WHERE FRED DIES. I CRIED. IT IS VERY SAD TO KNOW ABOUT THE DEATH OF NYMPHADORA AND REMUS. I'm still mulling this one over. The book was based loosely on strange found photographs, which I loved. When Jacob was a child, his grandfather told him amazing stories of his childhood that were fascinating and maybe true, maybe fantasy. When Jacob is 16 years old he goes in search of the truth. So many things to love: a Welsh island, time travel, the 1940s, a boy who loves his grandfather, peculiar children, wonderfully weird photos, quirky characters. I love a book that makes me want to keep reading into the night and refuses to be put down. But I am having a difficult time with this YA genre. What does Young Adult really mean? The Young Adult Library Services of the American Library Association defines a young adult as "someone between the ages of twelve and eighteen". I have also heard YA literature defined as texts written for ages twelve and up. I'm sorry, but I just don't see 12-year-olds as young adults. In fact, I don't see older teens as young adults. I really have a problem with this description. I think that this book would be great for older teens, but I wouldn't recommend it to the young target audience because the language is strong, parts are really frightening and not in the kind of context of Harry Potter good vs. evil so much as just creepy frightening. So, while I can recommend this book to adult readers of fantasy and sci-fi thrillers, I wouldn't recommend it to my young students.
